Chapter 6

Hwa-young's POV

"you know, i think Yoon Niki has a crush on you...i heard some girls mumble that he doesn't know anyone here other than some of his brothers who go here as well, they also said that he's pretty cold and wasn't interested in making friends among his classmates" commented Yuna, waving around her chocolate milk carton as a way to express her thoughts.

i choked on my strawberry milk carton, that i was drinking while walking to the parking lot with Yuna. "wh-what? no way, i'm sure he was just impressed by my boldness or academic excellence or something like that, plus maybe he was just wants to be friends with me because i'm nice? or maybe it's out of pity, who knows?" i replied, stuttering a little as i'm instantly reminded of my sleepless night filled with thoughts about him.

"plus you can't always believe what you hear, Shin Yuna" i added, chuckling. Yuna sighed and nodded, "yeah i guess so....but still there's a possibility" taunted Yuna with a grin, nudging me. i chuckled, and rolled my eyes at her "oh please as if" i mumbled, chuckling with Yuna.

Author's POV

Song Hwa-young waved her bestfriend goodbye, watching her leave with her eonnie in their car. she sighed and leaned on the light pole, waiting for her older sister, Song Mi-young to arrive and pick her up any moment now. 

she felt a polite tap on her shoulder, "huh?" she mumbled and turned around to meet Yoon Niki, giving her a small wave with a smile "hey" he greeted, slightly feeling awkward. i smiled, "hello, Niki" i greeted, nodding.

his smile grew slightly wider, "whose picking you up?" he asked, curiously as he stood next to Hwa-young. "my older sister, Mi-young, what about you?" she replied, politely. "oh okay, one of my hyungs will pick me up, probably Heeseung or Jake hyung" replied Niki, nodding.

she nodded, "oh alright" i replied. it was slightly awkward, but it was a comfortable silence also i guess you could say. "how was today's Physics test? i heard it's your class's turn" she asked, curiously with a small grin.

Niki chuckled and shook his head, "oh god super tough, i  can't believe i got a test on my third day here" replied Niki, "i almost forgot about it if it wasn't for Jungwon hyung, we learned together" he added, making her chuckle and nod, letting out a hum.

"it was easy for me though, only because i studied properly" mumbled Hwa-young with a shrug, letting out a laugh when Niki playfully rolls his eyes. "of course it was for you, you're the academic ace of the school" he mumbled and then laughs.

she laughed and shrugged, "yeah probably because of that, by the way if you have any problems with any subject, you can come to me for help" she replied, sweetly smiling.

oh god, how is her smile so lovely?

wait, where the fvck did that come from?

i can't possibly have a crush on her, right!

right?

ugh, this is annoying, of course i don't

Niki chuckled, trying to distract himself from his thoughts, "sure, thank you" replied Niki, nodding making Hwa-young smile, and nod. "no problem" she replied, politely.

"do you like strawberry milk a lot?" asked Niki, noticing that the girl before him held a strawberry milk carton and was often seen drinking strawberry milk, smiling. "oh yeah, i really like strawberry milk" replied Hwa-young, chuckling.

"what about you?" asked Hwa-young, Niki sheepishly smiled. "strawberry milk is nice but sometimes it's too sweet for me, i prefer chocolate milk" replied Niki.

Hwa-young chuckled slightly and nodded, "yeah it can be pretty sweet sometimes, i get what you mean, chocolate milk is pretty good though" she replied, smiling.
