𝟎𝟎𝟖. lights (christmas special)

spending christmas with chris and his brothers was always your favorite time of the year, you felt like you never got a break, but you liked it that way. every day leading up to christmas you and the boys would do anything and everything christmas related; they dragged you to every tree lot, every sledding hill, and every festival they could. but it all came down to your favorite part, being able to spend those cold nights with chris, either outside in the snow, or curled up together inside by the fire, having those long talks until we can't keep our eyes open anymore. he always made you feel so loved around the holidays, and you couldn't ask for better.

it was finally christmas eve and you and the boys were on a binge of all your favorite christmas movies. you and chris were cuddling in the corner of the couch, you were on top of him with your head on his chest while he played with your hair.

about twenty minutes later the fourth movie finished. you groaned and got up off of chris and stretched.

"i need to go for a walk or something." you mumbled as the three of them watched you stretched obnoxiously.

they all laughed then something came to chris's mind. "hey, what if we walk around the neighborhood and look at christmas lights? there are really done up houses around here."

nick and matt looked at chris, then at you.

"i'm down! that sounds nice." you smiled at chris.

"there's no way in hell i'm going outside right now." nick groaned.

"nick, come one, for y/n." chris stood up and stood next to you.

"yeah, nick, please." you pouted your lip at nick.

nick rolled his eyes and sighed. "okay, fine."

you clapped your hands together and nick walked off to get his winter clothes on. you then turned to matt. "matt?" you asked. matt smiled at you and chris. "yeah, i'm down, let's go."

you jumped up in joy and took chris's hand towards his bedroom to get your winter clothes on. you and chris put on your jackets, chris put on a beanie and you put on a scarf. you both got your shoes on then headed to the front door to see nick and matt waiting outside for you two.

chris smiled at you then took your hand, he intertwined your fingers with his then led you out of the house. the four of you walk down the streets, looking at all the lights. you and chris keeping each other close together while you walk through the christmassy neighborhood.

it warmed your heart seeing all of the lights, you always loved taking these late night walks; but they were usually all alone. chris was usually too tired to go with you, but having him here with you tonight with all of this magic around, you couldn't help but smile the whole time. chris loved seeing the smile on your face, it made him really happy so he made a mental note to himself to go on late night walks with you more often now.

chris let go of your hand then wrapped his arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer to him. you giggled and wrapped your arm around his waist.

a few more minutes of walking, you four came to a neighborhood like no other, the houses were covered completely in lights, one of them had a huge inflated snowman in front of the house. you and chris paused and just stared up at all the houses, mesmerized by all the colors. nick and matt had already run ahead, chasing each other through the neighborhood of lights.

"it's so beautiful." you whispered.

"yeah, wow." chris huffed, his breath visible in the air due to how cold it was.

you turned to look at chris and he turned to you, him looking down at you and smiling. "thank you for doing this, really, this has been the best christmas eve ever." you smiled at chris.

"oh, baby, of course. i'm so happy." chris laughed, moving a strand of hair away from your face, then gently grabbing your chin and tilting your head up so now your lips were inches away.

you could feel chris's nose against yours, his was cold, just like yours. he exhaled slowly out of his nose as you breathed in his air, moving your hands slowly up to the nape of his neck, finding your hands underneath his hair on his neck. chris moved one hand to your waist, and the other to the side of your face, gently rubbing his thumb over your cheek. you loved these moments and cherished them deeply; when you and chris would just look into each other's eyes, touching each other gently, it always made you feel so safe and special with him. chris cherished them just the same amount as you.

chris tilted his head up slightly, so your lips were slightly touching now, you could taste chris now and all you wanted to do was fully press your lips against his until you were interrupted by nick yelling at you both to hurry up.

you and chris both sigh and chris groans. you laugh and force yourself to pull away from chris.

"it's okay, i'll just have to kiss you a lot later." chris smiles then takes your hands and intertwines your fingers again as you catch up with nick and matt.

you and chris were laying on a blanket by the fireplace, you had returned home a few minutes ago, and nick and matt were making hot chocolate for all of you. chris was playing with your hair as you both were propped up on your elbows staring at each other.

"you're so handsome." you whisper to chris a few seconds later.

chris's cheeks slowly turn pink, but you can't tell if it's because he's still still cold or blushing. either way, he still looked very cute right now.

chris slowly sits up and you sit up with him, still facing each other. he gently grabs your face and pulls you to him and softly kisses you, his lips are still cold, but his mouth is warm which comforts you. you smile and kiss him back, slowly running your hand through his hair. you two pull away a second later and smile at each other.

"merry christmas, love." chris whispers.

"merry christmas, babe." you whisper back then kiss his cheek.
