Noah's POV

We have been sitting in awkward silence for like 10 minutes now, and I guess I was fine with not talking, but the awkwardness was killing me.

We talked earlier about all the basics, like our favorite colors his is brown and mine green, hobbies which his are sports and mine book reading, fav movie which his are all Marvel movies and mine nothing because I love books more than movies, and all that stuff.

But now what? What do people usually talk about on dates?

While I was thinking about all this, Aldric cleared his throat and asked, "Um, so why weren't you attending school this week?"

"Oh, you see this ring? It was given to me by Aunt Katty so it could block my scent and also help me not get affected by any alpha scents. But it broke last week, so I had to wait till it was fixed." I replied.

He made an 'Oh' face, and our conversation died.

I don't know why I have had this feeling since earlier that I want to get to know him. Well, blame the mate bond.

I wish I had Jay with me right now, but he has gone MIA since we found our mate.

I wanted to talk to Aldric about something, anything because sitting here is like torture in itself, and then the awkward silence.

Wow, don't get attached, and it's not like you actually like talking anyway, I told myself.

Goddess! This mate bond is a scary thing.

Okay, I gave up to the mate bond and decided to ask him questions so that at least I wouldn't have to talk.

And I am so thankful to my therapist because he taught me basic questions that get people talking, so I used one of those questions, "Uhm, So tell me about your family," I said.

"Oh, ha! yeah!" He said with a surprised expression.

Well, maybe he thought I wouldn't be interested at all, or I wouldn't talk, or whatever.

Anyway, he started talking.

"Well, we are five people in the immediate family; my grandpa and grandma and my uncle and aunt are all in the nearby packs. My dad and mom, the Alpha and Luna, my two younger brothers Harvey and Ollie, and then me." He said.

"....and now you," this part he said so firmly, looking directly into my eyes as if showing me that he is serious.

Of course, I didn't know how to react, but honestly, it did make my heart flutter, and there was warmth spreading inside me.

I gave him a small smile to show him that I heard him, and that's it.

"I would love to introduce you to them, but of course only when you are ready." He said

"Yeah," I said, letting out a nervous breath.

Woah! Meeting the Alpha's family would be nerve-wracking for me, but technically, I am already a mate of one of their family members, so yeah...

"You should meet Ollie though, he is also an omega, and he is such a lovely kid. I'm sure you would love him, and he would be excited to meet you too and love you too." He said

"Ah, yeah, I guess I would like that," I replied.

I have had omega friends before; it was just three of us for each other and also the pack doctor of my older hell (pack).

"I'll be right back. Our food's here; I will just go get it." He said, getting up from his chair and walking away.

While he was gone, I tried calling Jay, but there was no reply. Why was he gone, and until when I had no idea, but it was scaring me because he had been my protector, friend, and my everything ever since I was young.
