It had been a day since the whole Eros incident and I was able to speak to him privately about what happened on my date. After that was put behind me, I focused on Nate and the two girls.
"Iris and Lily," I announced pacing the floor. Nate was sitting on his couch with his head leaning on his hand.
"I said I don't know."
"I know." I continued to pace. "She never mentioned her favorite flower?"
"Sorry that never came up," Nate muttered sarcastically.
There was a knock on the door and I stopped dead in my tracks. I shot a look over at Nate but he shrugged. I stalked over to the door and practically pulled it off its hinges. I didn't want to be disturbed today.
"Pretty Peyton," Sean greeted walking past me as if I wasn't even there.
"Stupid Sean," I mumbled as he walked away.
"Hey, you ready for tonight?" Sean asked taking a seat on the loveseat across from Nate. I walked over and leaned on the back of the loveseat and shot a curious expression toward Nate.
"Aw, is it Wednesday already?" Nate asked.
"Yes," I answered for Sean.
Sean leaned back and met my eyes. "We go to a movie every Wednesday."
I nodded understanding now. "How very feminine of you both."
"It is not," Nate argued.
I looked at him. "You have a date every Wednesday to go to the movies."
Sean shook his head. "Women never understand."
I scoffed, "We certainly don't."
"Sorry Sean, we're busy tonight," Nate answered getting back on topic. This caused a curious look to cross Sean's face.
"No we're not," I corrected. "Go have your boy bonding time."
"Why don't you join us?" Sean suggested.
"No thanks," I declined. "But can I speak with Nate privately before I leave?"
"Sure," Sean agreed making no attempt to get up from his spot on the couch. Nate sighed then rose from the couch and let me lead the way. I walked further down the hallway and into his guest bedroom which currently held a sleeping Pyro.
"How much does he know?" I wondered. I didn't want to blurt out anything about Nate and ruin his friendship with Sean.
Nate scratched the back of his neck. "He doesn't know anything."
I nodded. "Okay, well tomorrow we are going to Manhattan to meet Iris then Queens to meet Lily."
"Tomorrow?" Nate seemed surprised. "I'd thought we would go after the god party."
"You thought wrong," I retorted. "The party is a week away and I am not going to waste precious time."
"You just want to set me up with the right person so I forget you and this god party, then you won't have to take me." Nate crossed his arms over his chest defiantly.
I pretended to think. "Well, that wasn't my plan but it sounds good to me."
Nate scoffed then held open the door for me as if politely telling me to leave. I did so without question not wanting him to blow up in my face. I grabbed my jacket and said goodbye to Sean.
"You guys sure know how to do a quickie," he commented as I exited the bedroom.
I rolled my eyes and then left him to Nate's care. Outside on the streets of Brooklyn, I realized I had nothing to do. After walking around aimlessly for a while, I hailed Harry's cab and rode up to my house.
