Shanks put the little girl to bed. Kissing her forehead slightly to wish her good dreams.

As he was leaving her room, he felt multiple suction cups wrap around his wrist. It was just Esme climbing onto him. She seemingly wanted to go with him. He didn't question the octopus and brought her along.

"Ok so what did you find?" Shanks asked taking a seat at the deck table. The entire crew sitting around waiting.

"It wasn't much actually. It was almost to the point that the topic was forbidden to mention." Hongo replied skimming over the same few pages as to not miss anything.

"Well tell us man! All this suspense isn't good for my heart." Yasopp yelled at the man then took a gulp of his beer. Lighting a cigarette as soon as he put the cup down next to his plate of fried chicken. Hongo squinted his eyes at him and scoffed.

"Anyways the book mentions an existence similar to that of Mermaids. But calling them a Mermaid is disrespectful in their eyes. Creatures of the night that are known for their beautiful voices. They are taboo but respected by ordinary Fishmen. Even the royal family of the time refused to give any more information. Others than that, the back seems as tho someone ripped pages out. My guess is that they found more information but someone didn't want others to know." Hongo summarized the little information he got. It was still helpful but left many questions.

"Mermaid like creature of the night that has a beautiful voice? You don't think it could be.........." Shanks trailed off with wide eyes. It seemed as tho everyone got the same conclusion. It wasn't confirmed till they heard paper rustling.

Everyone looked back at the table. On it, you could see Esme writing on a piece of paper. In big bold words she held the sign up.

  'SIREN'

The crowd erupted into conversation. Many confused about the word. Some wondering if Esme could always write. Others shocked by the confirmation.

"Wait, you're telling me that sweet little girl is a Siren? No. You're telling me Sirens are real?" Lucky Roo questioned the octopus. The little creature waved its tentacle as if trying to give a thumbs up.

"Aren't Sirens meant to be vicious creatures that lured sailors to their deaths?" A crewmate asked in the crowd. Murmurs echoed as many have known them to be just that. Granted it was always just speculated to be a legend told to scare young boys. A keep it in your pants type of story.

"This doesn't make any sense. If she is a Siren, how'd she end up captured? Does she even know what she is?" Shanks fired question after question.

Esme wrote quickly on more paper. All tentacles wrote at once to divulge the answers faster. When she was done she gave one paper to Shanks to read.

"She says, before I give you the rest. Please promise to not hurt her. If you want to abandon her that is fine. Just leave us in the ocean and I'll take care of her." Shanks read aloud. Cries of protest erupted from the ship. They would never abandon family.
