"Y-you h-have a tail! I just saw you with legs." Ace looked at her dumbfounded.
The three kids were chilling at the lake still. Ace sat with his legs dangling in the water. Esme enlarged herself so Luffy could hold onto her. They played with the Koi fish. Naomi went back to floating on her back. Just drifting along.
"Well yea? It's called shifting. Can't all fish people do that?" She asked him like he was dumb.
"I wouldn't know. Never met one before you. Shouldn't you know, considering you are one?" He rolled his eyes and huffed. The little girl put her hand on her chin and thought. When she tried to remember her past, her head was buzz with pain.
"I'm not sure........I don't know anything before I was kidnapped. But Uncle Hongo said he didn't see anything about it in his books." She shrugged and lifted water into the air. Twirling it around and making all types of shapes. Ace was confused but didn't ask anything else. She didn't seem to have any feelings on the situation.
"Well since you know Cocoa's secret, you have to be our friend now. Only friends can share secrets!" Luffy snickered at the boy. He's reasoning made no sense to the other kids. But one thing about Luffy, he's going to get what he wants.
Naomi looked back at Ace. He looked conflicted for some reason. It was a mix between angry, happy, sad and scared. Each emotion was fighting for dominance. She flicked some water at him. He glared at her. The little girl only snickered.
"That doesn't mean we're friends stupid!" Ace shouted at him. He didn't want to be friends with these weird kids. He didn't need him. He didn't need anybody. Right?
"Hey! Don't call him stupid!" Naomi fumed at the random boy for insulting her friend. She flicked her wrist. Water creeped up and wrapped around his ankle. She tugged on it and dragged him into the lake. Luffy laughed loudly at his misfortune.
"You stinky fish!" Ace yelled when his head came back up. He splashed her with water. Not that it did anything to a Siren.......
"Oi! Don't call her that!" Luffy yelled back at the boy. He directed Esme to splash the boy back. Cackling when the kid was forced back underwater. He quickly came back up and spit the water out.
"Nice one Rubber Monkey and Esme!" Naomi smiled at them. Giving the two thumbs up. The freckled kid was fuming.
"You think that's funny?!" He yelled at them. They looked at each other then back at him.
"Mmmm Yeah!" They snickered in response.
Ace glared the two. He dived down as they laughed. Esme watched him curiously. Her giant black eyes just blinked with amusement. ( ˙꒳˙ )What was he doing?
