Zhanghao takes a deep breath as he locks his locker. He's nervous about the fact that today is the first day that he and Hanbin will "make official" their fake relationship, plus today is Wednesday, which means he'll have to attend Hanbin's training session.
"So what plans for today's afternoon?" Matthew asks while cracking his knuckles. They're both heading towards the second class of the day, which starts in ten minutes.
"Im going to watch Hanbin's practice" Hao says trying not to roll his eyes and Matthew smiles at him provocatively. "What?"
"Oh nothing, we're having lunch with them today right?" Matthew asks as he heads towards his locker, packing up his things while Hao leans his back against the locker next to it.
"Yup" he says, closing his eyes and Matthew shakes his head as he sees that his best friend isn't sleeping properly again.
"Hao we already-" Matthew is interrupted as he tries to warn Hao not to stay up late, which is something he tends to do during exam season.
"You're in my locker" a tall boy says as he stands in front of Hao, who slowly opens his eyes and looks him up and down and then his eyes widen when he notices that the person in front of him is Kim Gyuvin, who looks at him with a not very happy face.
"Oh I-I'm sorry" Hao says, unstrapping himself from the locker and looking down in shame.
He looks at Gyuvin who rolls his eyes. Just then Hao realizes that if he's here it means Hanbin is nearby, and he decides to get out of there but is pulled by his waist, he looks around to see who pulled him and sees that it was the person he wanted to avoid until lunchtime.
Hanbin now has his hand on Hao's waist and smiles happily at him. "Hey swetie" he says and Hao looks at him shocked, not knowing what to say, and Hanbin squeezes his waist a little so that he realizes that they are now getting stares from their friends.
"Oh H-Hey Binnie" Hao replies, swallowing dryly as he looks away from Hanbin, even he himself doesn't know how he was so quick to think of a "cute" nickname for his fake boyfriend.
"Wait" Gyuvin says looking at them both confused and Matthew simply watches the situation. "YOU'RE THE GUY HANBIN IS SEEING?" he asks shouting, causing several people to look at him.
Hanbin only then realizes that Gyuvin is Jiwoong's half-brother, and exchanges glances with Hao, who was thinking the same thing.
"Oh" Matthew says and attention shifts to him.
"I've seen you somewhere" Gyuvin says looking Matthew up and down who smiles embarrassedly.
"Im the guy who you're-"
"YOU'RE MY BROTHER NEW MAN RIGHT?" he asks shouting again, and looks at Hao and then at Matthew. "Gosh my bestfriend is dating my brother ex, and the bestfriend of my brother ex is dating him"
Hanbin and Hao exchange a look, while Gyuvin opens his mouth in astonishment and looks at Matthew, who smiles awkwardly because it's the first time he's spoken to someone from his boyfriend's family.
"Me and Jiwoong are not dating, we are just you know" Matthew says embarrassed and Gyuvin smiles at him.
"Oh I know, he's always talking about you" he says and Matthew looks at him surprised and smiles warmly at hearing those words. "Now you two im shocked, when you told me it would be too shocking I never thought about my brother's ex" he says looking at the fake couple, who exchange nervous glances.
"I was afraid of your reaction so I didn't tell you" Hanbin says looking nervously at Gyuvin who laughs.
"There's no need to be afraid, it was my brother who dated him, not me" he says, smiling at the couple. Hao bites his lip, nervous about the whole situation and especially because Hanbin's hand is still around his waist. Why doesn't he get his ugly hand out of here, he thinks to himself.
"Is everything all right?" Hanbin asks and Gyuvin punches him lightly on the shoulder.
"Yah I will never be mad at you, if you're happy that's all that matters" Hanbin smiles at him.
"Oh yes I am" he says, shifting his gaze to Hao, who looks away to the other two who have started talking about Jiwoong.
The conversation between the two continues while, unlike them, Hanbin and Hao are completely silent. The students standing near them are shocked to see that the most popular boy in school has a crush on a boy that some of them don't know and others don't like.
The girls who are also watching them from behind the hallways look at Hanbin's hand on Hao's waist with envy, they whisper to each other about how unexpected this whole situation is, they all wish they were in Hao's place, especially one who is too angry to see it.
"Your hand Hanbin" Hao says quietly and angrily next to his fake boyfriend's ear, who bites his lip to calm down as he's about to have a gay panic, and calmly removes his hand from Hao's waist.
"I didn't notice I had it there for a while," he says lying, he was enjoying having his hand on Hao's slender waist, and he wouldn't mind having it there all day. "Im sorry about Gyuvin"
"For what?" Hao asked confusedly.
"Because before he knew that you and I were dating, he didn't seem to like you very much" Hanbin laughs and Hao looks at him, narrowing his eyes.
"His brother and I ended up perfectly well so I don't know what his problem is" Hao says sourly and Hanbin puts his arm around Hao's shoulders who looks at him in surprise.
"They're looking" Hanbin whispers in Hao's ear, who shivers at Hanbin's seductive voice and laughs, pretending that his "boyfriend" has just told him a joke.
"That joke was terrible" he says, looking at Hanbin, who realizes what he's doing.
"But you laughed" he says and Hao rolls his eyes laughing, they're both finding it funny.
"I laughed because you thought it was funny, it was just to make you happy" Hao says as he slaps Hanbin's arm, who laughs at his attitude.
They look at Matthew and Gyuvin, who are watching them provocatively.
"Matthew we need to go" he says after the bell rings and lets go of Hanbin and walks over to his best friend, who looks at him confused that he has left his boyfriend behind. "See you at lunch Binnie, and Gyuvin too" Hao says goodbye to them smiling and the best friends leave the place.
Hanbin and Gyuvin look at each other, and laugh at their new friends panic to get to their class.
"Don't you have classes?" Gyuvin asks Hanbin, who shakes his head and Gyuvin snorts, rolling his eyes. "Im going to have math. GOSH I HATE MATH SO MUCH" he shouts loudly in the middle of the corridor and a lady who works at the school, who was cleaning, tells him to shut up and he apologizes.
"Do you hate Hao? He is having lunch with us every day except Monday" Hanbin says suspiciously, he doesn't want Gyuvin to hate his fake boyfriend and crush.
"What? Of course not" Gyuvin says looking shocked at Hanbin. "If he had hurt my brother, I would have hated him but I know he wouldn't because Jiwoong had already lost his feelings and they're just friends now because they've realized that they're not meant to be dating."
"I-I know" Hanbin says looking away from Gyuvin as they walk to his classroom.
"I hope you and him work out, I remember Jiwoong used to talk about him but not as much as he talks about Matthew, he said he's a very insecure person and very confused" Gyuvin says looking at Hanbin. "Don't hurt yourself" he says and says goodbye to Hanbin, blowing him a kiss and Hanbin laughs at how stupid his best friend is.
Don't fall in love because what the two of you have is fake. Is what Hanbin heard when Gyuvin told him not to get hurt.
"It will be difficult" he says quietly and sighs deeply, heading for the school roof to spend his free time alone, thinking about Hao and life.
