I head towards the room with the stone table. I hear approaching steps, running. I turn around and see Peter and Trumpkin. "Quickly." Peter whispers, he grabs my wrist and I start running with them. I pull my hand back, but follow with him. We turn the corner and head into the room with the stone table. The first thing that catches my eye is the gigantic ice block that was definitely not there before. Then my eyes fall on the figures in capes, and then Caspian. He's reaching out to the block of ice.
"Stop!" Peter yells, and the figures turn towards us. One of them are some sort of bird hybrid, the other a wolf. The dwarf that had followed Caspian after the blowout between him and Peter is also standing there. He glares at Peter, and I take out my sword.
My eyes dart back to the ice wall. A hand is sticking out of it, and I now see the women who I somehow didn't notice before.
Jadis. Standing there, reaching out for Caspian's hand.
I run into the room, the wolf instantly jump on me. I dodge, and I point my sword towards it. The wolf jumps again, I hold my sword towards its lower stomach. He roars again, and has he pulls back, my sword gets stuck and ripped out of my hands. The wolf doesn't seem to be bothered by the sword stuck in it's stomach, and jumps again. I fall to the ground. I kick towards the weapon in its stomach, and manage to push it further in. The wolf freezes, as if it's stuck above me. I pull my sword out and crab out from underneath the wolf. I turn and see Lucy being held by Nikabrick. He's behind her, holding her one of her arms behind her back. Her dagger lays next to her. She screams as he twist her arm backwards. She gets thrown to the ground. Peter throws the bird hybrid over his shoulder, and she flies into column, between Lucy and I. I run towards Lucy, but before I reach over to her Trumpkin takes care of the dwarf. I stop in my tracks, and turn towards Jadis and the ice wall.
"Get away form him!" Peter yells as he pushes Caspian away, he at least seems to snap out of a trance. Peter has his sword pointed at her, and she smiles gently down at him. Oh shit.
"Peter, dear." She soothes. "I've missed you." She tells him. I watch, almost hypnotised. I want to yell, to scream, both at her and at Peter. I feel frozen, as if I'm 10 again, and under her spell in the dungeon. I feel a kick to the backside of my legs, and I groan as I fall to my knees. My sword is ripped away from me and the wolf moves out of my sight. He has black blood dripping from the wound, but he doesn't even seem fazed by it. I try to shuffle away from whoever is holding me, until I feel cold, sharp iron against my neck. A blade. My breath hitches in my throat and I am unable to say anything. All this happens so fast, within a matter of seconds I am left defenceless. My eyes are attached to the scene between Peter and Jadis, I couldn't care less about myself in this moment. If she comes back, it's all over. For a moment her eyes goes to me, her cold and stern gaze feels warm, almost welcoming. I hear her voice in my head, singing my name. I blink once, throwing her out. She looks away, back down at Peter.
I see her reach her hand further out towards Peter, "Come." She coos, he doesn't do anything as if he's frozen in place. He doesn't pull away. Shit.
"Peter!" I scream, his head turns towards me for a moment. His eyes are wide, and he looks like he was before all of this, the wars and blood. Innocent. Afraid. A kid. He looks back at her after less than a second, but his face is stuck in my mind. His scared big eyes, the inner debate and the worry stands clear before me. "Don't you dare do it, Peter!" I yell, trying everything I can from my unfortunate state. The bird creature pushes the knife inn towards my throat, and I whimper as I feel a drop of blood running down my neck.
"Just one drop." Jadis tells him, and reaches further out. I suck in a breath as her hand approaching him. "You know you can't do this alone." She speaks, her voice sugary sweet, her eyes staring into his soul. He lowers his sword ever so slightly. My heart sinks.
