"Ready?" I ask Peter as we stand before the opening to the cave.
"As ready as I'll ever be." He replies as he takes the helmet Edmund is handing him. Edmund and I exchange worried looks. "Any words of advice, Rosalyn?" He asks, not looking at me. Full name, guess he's still mad.
"Don't loose balance, he'll play dirty, and you have to drag this out." I sum up, and he nods. He puts his helmet on. I want to say something, but my mind is blank.
"You should go out there, my lieges." Ripichip says as he comes running up to us.
"Right." Peter sounds worried, his eyes still turned towards the exit. I grab after his helmet and hit the eye shield down, he finally looks down at me, seeming confused.
"For old times sake." I smile, and he nods, I can't see his face under the helmet, but he takes the shield back up.
"Ready?" Edmund asks, and Peter looks forward again, and starts walking. I wear the same armour as Peter and Edmund, wearing a dress would have me stand out even more than I already will. I rest my hand on my sword, and I walk besides Edmund, behind Peter.
As we start walking up the slack hill the crowd of Narnians are cheering Peter on. He walks first, me and Edmund following close behind. We all look forward, towards the Telmarine army, and our enemies ahead.
We step up on the stones and we meet Glenstorm who has been waiting for us. Peter draws his sword which Edmund has been holding, and he stands ready. I look over at the Telmarines, and notice the crossbow the general is holding. Miraz is also standing now, and he looks confident, way too confident. He grabs his helmet and draws his sword. He still has that funny looking mask. I know it probably protects, but it just looks funny. Miraz walks into the ring, and so does Peter. They stare at each other for a moment.
They start circling, and I try to control my breathing. I notice Edmund taking a step towards me, and I take a deep breath as I try and control my nerves. If this doesn't go well, if Peter doesn't win, everything will be ruined. Not even Aslan can help us then. They keep walking in circles, and I feel the blood rushing in my ears. "How many more must die for the throne?" I barely hear Miraz asking.
"Just one." Peter sneers, then it starts.
Peter jumps from one of the fallen columns, and swords and shields crash together. Peter gets hit in the head my Miraz's shield as he lands and stumbles backwards. Peter quickly recovers balance, and he hits back at Miraz. This is how it goes, one attacks and one blocks, on and on again. They dance in circles and it's awful to watch. They grunt and yell before each attach, but as Peter manages to twist himself behind Miraz he manages to find a weak spot in the armour. Miraz groans as he stumbles forward. Peter does the same again, and he seems to be winning so far. But as Peter goes for a third attach Miraz ducks and he hits Peter with his shield, nocking off his helmet. Peter grunts as he looks at his opponent, and I suck in a sharp breath. Miraz goes in for a strike at the head, but Peter ducks it. Peter creates a cut in miraz's leg, and now its his time to grunt.
They run towards each other, Miraz manages to trip Peter and he ends up rolling on the ground. He quickly gets up, and blocks several attacks from Mirza's sword. But he looses balance and gets kicked to the ground. His arm with his shield is laid out flat, and Miraz stomps on it, Peters shoulder makes an awful crunch sound and he yells out in pain. He somehow manages to roll away from mirage and trip him, having him fall flat. The two of them stumble to their feet, but as Peter looks up he seems to get distracted. I see Miraz asking Peter something, and he replies.
