Hybrids-

The outcome of two different races coming together and baring a child. 14 years ago, this world was blessed with two of the most powerful combinations, the human race and elves had come and chose to mix, trying to create the most powerful yet smartest being. The humans were the ones who initially sent out an offer. Letters were passed to each of the major elf clans; the sun, and the moon.

Sun was quick to accept, eager to meet the human leaders and become a part of their culture. Moon however, had their reservations, humans were not to be trusted, they would be opening their home to these unknown people. Although, good outweighs the bad, many would be helped if this miracle child came out as the humans said.  Each clan sent one man and the humans sent 2 women. After this day the two couples were supposed to produce a baby, the woman was to carry the baby for 9 months and raise them until they were one year old. On their first birthday they were to be sent to their respective clans. One mother, however, decided to keep her child and she ran, only the moon child made it to the Moon Clans village.

....

Run.  Her mind screamed at her even as her feet ached.

Run. Each breath, quick and sharp, sends a stabbing pain throughout her abdomen. The precious bundle in her hands is the only thing keeping her from faltering. They would come after her if she didn't get out quickly. She knew though, that she couldn't let her baby be taken by the grubby hands of corrupt politicians and government systems. So she ran, until she stumbles into the outskirts of Aslin, a small city that borders the forest, to the north of the capital. Aslin had one of the largest populations to live in poverty, and now she and her newborn child were going to be a part of it.

She lifts the blanket covering her child's face and coos. "Hello my little sun." Two bright heterochromatic eyes stare up at her, the child giggles and coos, his small hands reach up for his mothers face.

As she rests near the river bordering Aslin, she hears shouting, too far away for her to decipher words, but to close for her liking. Groaning, she gets up from the stony ground and moves in closer to the city, stopping in front of the closed large wooden gate. Surrounding the gate and subsequent walls, were hundreds of small huts and families.

None of them paid any mind to her as she passed by, all engrossed in their own tasks and matters.

Exhaustion pulls at her eyelids, her steps waver and the ground looks awfully comfortable but she keeps moving along the city. For miles she walks, until she reaches a small nook with a dozen or so families spread out. A familiar cry pulls at her consciousness and she finally looks down. The young boy in her arms had his face scrunched and his fists balled. Snot ran from his nose and tears left small rivers on his cheeks.

"Is this where we stay?" She looks around, finding a clearing of dirt. She sits. "This is where our new home is, Solis." He whines and writhes. She sighs.

They hadn't found her yet, and she'd keep it that way.
