The After Party

The night ends after everyone eats cake and Megumi opens his gifts. He got tons of toys and some clothes. You tend to spoil Megumi every chance you get so you let everyone else buy his gifts while you handled the cake and the decorations. As everyone says their goodbyes to you, Shoko comes over to your left side. She knows she fucked up. "Look, I'm sorry for what I said. I just worr-" You cut her off and say, "Shoko, I'm fine. Everything is fine. Just worry about your situation." She looks at me and raised her eyebrows. "And exactly what's that suppose to mean?" You look over at Toji and say, "Exactly what I mean." Because you are getting frustrated, you walk away. A lot is on your mind since the kitchen situation. You don't want to lie to him. He's not gonna ask.

As you start to clean up, Toji walks in the kitchen and helps you. There is a tense silence in the air and you don't know what to do. "So, why were you and Geto in here alone together earlier? I asked Gojo after we had cake and he said he had no idea." He stops and looks at you. You continue to clean and said, "He was apologizing for Shoko's behavior. He also was telling me about his sobriety. I told him I was happy for him. Sobriety is good." As you throw everything in your hands away, he leans on the counter. "The man couldn't even look at me the whole time he was here. Do you need to tell me something? Like, what's that all about?" He tells you. Fuck. I can't. You lie to him. "Give him a break Toji, "the man" is starting to be normal again. He was so fucked up on heroine that he couldn't function right. He was like a straight zombie. It kind of reminds me of-" "Okay. Please, I get it." He interrupts. You didn't lie to him. Geto was really like that. Toji also was like that too. He never wants to talk about it though. He doesn't want take accountability. 

"Thank you for all of this (Y/n). I'm sorry, I just care about you and Megumi a lot. You did amazing with his birthday." You stop cleaning for a moment and walk over to him. He looks so good. He has on a white tank top with black jeans. You give him a hug and he wraps his arms around you. He's so warm and comfortable. You look up at him and he leans down to kiss you. He has such soft lips. Although you were scared about him finding out about Geto, he also had a secret that he didn't want you to know. 

A few days later..

It's the weekend and you're at home with Megumi while Toji is at work. He wanted to go in an extra day this week for some reason but you didn't question it. You're learning to trust him. It's a beautiful day so you want decide to go pick up Itadori and Nobara with Megumi. The park sounds so nice. "Gumi, don't forget about the snacks please." You say as you're cleaning up living room. He's has been playing with his toys all morning. When you asked him to clean up earlier, he didn't want to listen. He continued to play with them. Toji tells you to get on to him when he does that but you love that brat too much, so you just let him do what he wants. As long as it's not involving hurting others or doing unlawful things like his father did. He gets up and puts his toys in his backpack. "Can I call daddy?" He asked. You hand him the phone to call him. After a few minutes, you get everything picked up and you eventually get his snacks pack. As you walk over to your room, Megumi yells, "DADDY'S NOT ANSWERING!" You stop and turn around. "That's strange.. Maybe daddy is in a big meeting. We can call him when we get to the park." You say to him as you grab his shoes from his room. "Let's get these shoes on and head to uncle Gojo's." Since the party, you and Gojo have gotten closer. You're not sure why but he gives off this best friend energy.

You get to Gojo's and Megumi runs out the car. "Be careful son." You said. You worry this kid is gonna break a limb one day. He is always moving around and running. Megumi gets to the door and knocks. "Is that my favorite kid? AAAHHH!!" Gojo picks him up and swings him around. You love seeing Megumi laugh. As you walk up to the door you say, "You seem like you're in a good mood, what's the special occasion?" He puts Megumi down and responds, "I decided we are not going to the park today, we are going to THE WATER PARK!!" You laugh. "Well, we didn't pack for that sooo-" "Its okay." He interrupts, "Idatori has extras!" You sit at the table while you wait for Gojo and the kids to get ready. You texted Toji hours ago but no responds. Looking at the text, you decide to try and call again. 

"Ring....Ring.....Ring.....Ring.... Hey this is-"

You hang up. This is strange for you. He doesn't do this. He hasn't since being back in each others lives. Gojo walks in and looks at you. He can see how stressed and worried you are getting. "What's going on? I could tell something was wrong since you got here." He asked softly. You continue to look at your phone and tell him the situation. He stays quiet. "Well, thanks for comforting me Gojo. I really needed those words of silence. I learned a lot." You sigh. The situation really has your head spinning now. "I mean.. like, do you know something?" He still isn't saying anything. "GOJO!" You yell. "Okay, look please don't get mad at me but.. I saw Toji and Shoko talk after Megumi's party as we were leaving. I have no idea what was said but all I know is that Shoko kept talking about today as if it was a special day or something. Every time I asked about it, she would tell me not to worry about it. Sorry I didn't say sooner." You look at him with confused expression. "Wait, are you trying to say that some little date got set up today?" Your tone is more irritated this time as you ask. "No, but I mean, where's Toji anyways?"
