Starting Over (TojixReader)

Nothing's New

A week goes by and you haven't left your house. You and Shoko are still are not on good terms so you haven't been communicating with her. Gojo comes over every other day to bring food cause he knows you don't cook. He tries to talk with you but you really don't know what to say about it all. Plus, he doesn't know about you and Geto. It would be weird to talk about. You also haven't seen or spoken to Megumi or Toji in over a week. The last time you saw Megumi was in Toji's office. You remember that smile and his "I love you's". You're missing that little boy so much. You haven't been sleeping properly since. You tried calling Toji once or twice but no answer. A text message you sent a few days ago, got left on read. It said, "Hey, tell Megumi I love him. I miss him so much. If there is any chance we could talk just let me know." It saddened you to know that this fucked everything up. Fuck Geto.

Toji doesn't know what do with everything he has found out. He keeps Megumi home all week with him. He doesn't want to be alone with himself. For 6 months now he has been with you nonstop and now, being alone doesn't fit for him. He misses you. The text you sent to him made him sad. Megumi is up, eating cereal and watching one of his favorite tv shows. Toji is working from home. He looks over at Megumi. God he's getting tall. "Hey Gumi, you wanna go shopping for new clothes?" Megumi jumps up. "Is (Y/n) coming with us?" He asked. Toji sighs then smiles. "She's been busy with work bud, maybe just me and you this time?" He asked. "She's been busy with work all week though dad. I miss her. I love you dad but she made things...less boring.." Megumi says quietly while he stuffs his mouth with Captain Crunch.  Toji smiles. Just hearing your name lights him up inside but he's conflicted on how he actually feels about you now. "I miss her too Gumi, but we gotta let her do her thing. You will see her soon." He tells his son. "Well, when will I see my friends? I haven't seen them since last week.." Megumi sounded sad. This is so selfish of Toji. He kept him out of school for a week because of this. To keep his kid away from everyone cause of this one issue? It's definitely not a small one but nothing to get his son involved with. He has no idea what's going on. "I don't know son... It's your break and your friends seem like they went out of town." He lied. In times like this he really needs his son. He started thinking of dark places. Darker things. 

A few hours later, you decided to try to ring Toji again. "Hello?" He answered swiftly. You hesitated. The fact that he answered had you speechless. So fast at that. "Um, hello?" You respond nervously. "Hey.. how are you?" He says while watching Megumi. You really don't know what to say to him. You don't feel bad but you don't feel the best either. "Okay...how are you?" You ask quietly. He sighs. "I could be better but I'm okay too." There is a weird feeling in the air and a big elephant in the room. You fill the silence with asking, "So, how's Megumi doing? I've been missing him.." He gives a half smile and responds, "He's doing good. He misses you too and talks about you about everyday. He's like "Where's (Y/n)?" or "I miss (Y/n), can we go to her house?" I tell him no of course but he really does miss you." You start to smile a little. Talking about that kid, really can lighten the mood. "Yeah? That's so cute. Has he been going to school?" You asked this because Gojo told you that his friends hasn't seen him all week. He doesn't say anything at first. "Well, I've been keeping him home with me-" "Toji, you can't keep him out of school." You interrupt. "I know, I know.. I just needed him here with me." He says. You could hear a crack in his voice when he said that. "Okay Toji, I get it. He just can't miss anymore school." You say softly. He tells you that Megumi will be back to school tomorrow and you both hang up. You over think the conversation and how it all went. Everything that was said was not everything that wanted to be said. Just awkward small talk. But you thought it was good to hear Toji's voice again.

After the call ends, you get a knock at the door. You walk over and look through the peephole. It's Gojo. He is standing there waving his hand with bag of food in the other. You open the door and say, "Hey Satoru, what did you bring this time?" He scrunches his eyebrows at you and says, "Never call me that again and shrimp fried noodles with gyoza. Now let me in, I know you're starving. I am at least." You laugh and let him in. As you guys sit on the a the table in your kitchen table you tell Gojo about the call you had with Toji. He was just as surprised as you were. "But he's been keeping Megumi out of school. I think it's kinda selfish but I get it. I kind of been alone throughout this whole shit too." "Hey! I've been here!" Gojo yells out. "Yeah, you have. But I can't give you kisses all over the place and tickle you like I can Megumi." You say while you laugh. "Says who?" He questioned. You roll your eyes with a chuckle. "I'm kidding. So is Megumi coming back tomorrow?" He continues the conversation. You take a sip of drink and you say, "Yes actually..." He looks at you as if he know exactly what you're thinking. "Gojo, I can't. I don't-" "You don't want to see Megumi or you don't want see Toji?" He cut in. You look back at him and ask rhetorically, "What do you think?" He smiles. "I think everything will go fine. Toji probably misses you too."
