   • In which Stanley Uris falls in love•

15 year old Stanley had been diagnosed with depression. Fast forward 2 years, he's figured out he's gay. He doesn't tell his parents, as they would kick him out (they were strict "rule following" Jews). Fast forward 2 months, summer break has ended. Stanley heard his alarm go off and he sighed to himself. Another year of hell. Another year of bullying. Another year of pining after his best friend to no avail. He got up slowly and stretched, getting out of his bed. He made his bed, then headed to his bathroom to shower and get ready.

He came out with a towel wrapped around his waist and his curls blow-dried. He picked out a light blue polo and washed gray jeans as well as a necklace that Bill gave him for his 16th birthday, it had a small ruby-throated hummingbird on it, his favorite bird. He slipped on a pair of neat maroon Converse and went out of his room. He crept downstairs silently, as his parents were still most likely asleep, and went to the kitchen to grab some food. It was 7:20, he was supposed to leave by 7:45. He finished quickly and silently, grabbing his backpack.

He slipped in an AirPod and got on his bike. The cool morning air hit his face and he was slightly surprised, it was like 80° the previous day. He started to play Family Line by Conan Gray, one of the songs he most related to, with his very shitty parents. He sang along to it as he rode along the street.

"Scattered 'cross my family line
I'm so good at telling lies
That came from my mother's side
Told a million to survive
Scattered 'cross my family line
God, I have my father's eyes
But my sister's when I cry
I can run, but I can't hide
From my family line.."

The song ended just as he pulled into his school parking lot, where he saw the rest of the Losers hanging out by the bike rack. He took out his AirPod and put on his signature smile. "Hey guys." Eddie and Richie were bickering as usual, so they didn't hear him, Bill and Ben said hello back, and Bev waved. He noticed that Bill was kinda holding Bev's hand, and his heart dropped. He kept on his smile though, so no one could see that he was heartbroken. Tears came to his eyes though, and he tried to keep them in. "Oh, Stan! Bev and I have some news.." She held onto his arm, and Stan felt a flash of anger. That should be him holding Bill's hand, him loving Bill.

Richie gaped at Bill. "You got pussy, Bill?!" Eddie slapped his arm. "Don't say that!" Richie patted Eddie's head. "I am very sorry, my Eds." Eddie smacked him again. "Don't call me that!" He was blushing though, and they continued to bicker. Bill narrowed his eyes at Richie. "Don't talk about my girlfriend like that, Rich.." Stan felt his heart shatter into a million tiny pieces. "Congratulations, Bill." Bill smiled and hugged Stan. Stan wanted Bill to hug him, to hold him forever. But Bill was dating Bev now. It couldn't happen. But..

    He still longed for him.
