Beeping. Dripping. Footsteps clapping on the vinyl floor nearby. A plastic curtain rustling across the floor. Your chest slowly rising and falling as you lay in your bed. Your cold, uncomfortable, hospital bed. The white sheets chaffing against your forearms, the needle for your IV fluid resting against the inside of the forearm with a sharp, icy cold, the metal stinging on your skin. Your eyes were closed, a sliver of light falling across them from the crack between the hospital curtains. Eyes closed, Breath slow. Eyes closed. Breath slow. Months and months had passed; and those closed eyes had still not yet opened. Your body laid still, quiet, near silent. This was the nightmare that you had been trapped in. A body stiller than stone. A mind wandering beyond the dreams you had created. A mind still lost, in the plains beyond.

"Hello!" You cried, your voice flowing forward, only to hit a wall of silence and dullness. A black void surrounded you. Or at least, your mind. Your thoughts kept screaming out into the void, full of fear and full of confusion, "Mom!? Dad!? Eli!? Carrie!? Where are you!?" Tears pricking your eyes, "What happened?! What's going on!?"

You looked around, your legs barely moving. You tried to walk forward, the blackness clinging to your legs like tar.

"Please?! Is anyone there!? I'm scared!" You called into the void.

"Hello? Who's there?"

A voice. A clear, audible voice! A boy. His voice was strong, cheerful, warm.

"Can you hear me!?" You cried, looking around to find the boy, "Where, where are you?"

"Hi! Uh. Yes? Who are you?" The male voice replied.

"I'm Y/N." You replied shakily, taking a few more steps forward, "I-I don't know where I am. I can't see anything. It's all dark!"

The voice stayed silent for a second before...

"Okay! Y/N, my name is Denki Kaminari. I need you to focus in on my voice okay? Just stay focused on my voice and walk towards it! Maybe you can find yourself a way out of wherever you are!"

"You promise to stay where you are and help me?" You asked, taking another couple steps forward.

"Of course!" You could almost imagine him smiling from the tone of voice, "What are heroes for!"

You let out a sigh of relief, he was going to help you. He really was.

"Okay! So follow my voice! Can you hear where it's coming from Y/N?" You closed your eyes, "Please keep talking! I need to work it out!"

"Okay, gorgeous!" Denki replied.

Heat slowly reached up your cheeks, "You don't even know what I look like!" You responded, keeping your eyes closed.
