The forest outside his house. His one sanctuary. His one safe place. Or at least, it used to be. Now it stank of ash and smoke as its burnt remains were blown up by the wind, and ruffling his dark black hair. His piercing azure eyes staring down at the ash-covered ground. A small blue flame alight on the tip of his right pointer finger. Its light sweeping between the colour of the ocean, and the colour of the sky. He watched as it danced in the breeze, his black coat flapping around him.

It had happened so long ago. Yet, he could still here the painful screams of his younger self. His pained cries piercing the night as bright red flames transformed into an icy blue, burning the skin off his arms, legs and face. The tears that he would have cried burnt into oblivion.

'Crack!'

He snapped his head upwards. Examining the burn trees around him. Each tree. Nothing. Each bush. Nothing. Wait. No. There it was. A small glimmer of unnatural light. Sparkling like stars. A small face peeked out from behind a burnt tree trunk. He leaped up to his feet, his throat tightening with emotion as he saw you. He thought you were dead? Weren't you? He could be seeing things. Could he? The memories of that night came back to him.

"Touya? Where are you going?" You asked, watching as the white haired boy started walking towards the forest, instead of his house.

"I want to keep training." Was all the answer you got, before he looked back at you, "I want to get stronger."

You shook your head and smiled, your delicate (f/c) wings sparkling and fluttering behind you. You slunk you bag higher on your shoulder.

"Alright, I'll train with you! And we can both get stronger!" You gave him a close-eyed smile, before grabbing his wrist and running towards the woods again.

Touya watched as you ran ahead of you, occasionally lifting off the ground with your wings as you ran. Your hair gently flowing in the breeze, a small flush on your cheeks. Your turned back and gave Touya another big smile.

"We can be heroes together, Touya!"

If only you had your eyes open, as you would have seen the expression on Touya's face. His eyes were shining with not yet fallen tears, his cheeks burning worse than the fire of his quirk. You were always so kind, so positive. So far from the world he was used to living in. He also thought that was part of the reason why he always loved to be around you, loved to see your smile, and hear your laugh.

The two of you finally reached the centre of the forest, the tree stump where you first met in the centre of a grassy clearing.

"Lets do this!" You cheered, closing your eyes and lifting yourself up from the ground, you wings beating faster and faster, sending sparkling dust across the ground. You laughed as you floated upwards, circling around the clearing,"Your turn, Touya!"
