It wasn't long before we managed to get the
HMS Pogue free of debris from the trees and into the water. I put a bathing suit on underneath of my hoodie and shorts and then we were on our way to pick up Pope and Kie.

"Sure hope Guffy's boat didn't sink." JJ said, looking out at the few docked boats along the bank. "He doesn't have insurance."
I nodded my head, agreeing with him.
"Hi, Miss Amy. You guys get through it?"
John B called out to a blonde woman who was throwing some trash into a bag.
She smiled as she looked up, voice clear as a bell. "Still here."
"She totally looked at me." JJ said with a cocky grin.
"I saw it." John B told him.

I just simply rolled my eyes. "Why is it that if a girl smiles at a guy they automatically think that the girl wants to jump their bones?"
"Because," JJ replied in a sing song tone,
"they usually do."
"Y'know, she could just have been trying to be nice, your ego is the size of the sun." I aired back making JJ scoff.
"You're just sad that you're not getting any of this attention."
I narrowed my eyes at the blond, the sudden urge to shove him into the water becoming overwhelming. "I don't want to get any attention."
JJ opened his mouth to reply but whatever words he was going to say died on his tongue instead letting out a low whistle, his attention caught on something else. "Agatha, what did you do?"

The entire section of the Cut had been trashed. Trash was floating in the water, boats pressed up against each other, some lower in the water than they should've been. Even from their position on the water, I could see that some parts of the roofs to the houses have been torn off.

"She is a crazy lady." John B mused.
I cringed as I looked at all the damage that had been done. All of these people could scarcely afford food for the week and now they had all of this damage to repair.
"We'll be cleaning this all summer." John stated.
"That is my nightmare." JJ said.
"Well, look who we have here." John B said with a walky talky accent.
I smiled as I spotted Pope hosing down some of the dock. JJ let out a whoop, catching his attention as John B pretended to have a speaker in his hand.
"We have a safety meeting. Attendance mandatory." John B called out.
Pope shook his head. "I can't. My pop's got me on lockdown."

"Come on, man." JJ started, mimicking
John B's speaker idea. "Your dad's a pussy.
Over."
"Oh, I heard that, you little bastard." Heyward snapped, walking forward with a brush in hand.
As the boat came closer to the docking, I jumped off the Pogue letting John B and JJ deal with Pope.
"Hey Heyward." I smiled, trying to distract him slightly.
He gave a nod of acknowledgement, peeved at JJ's comment. "Hey, Haley. Shouldn't you be at the Cameron's today?"
"Nope, yesterday was my first day here so I already got that all over with" I explained.
Heyward chuckled and shook his head slightly, "Got it all over with, huh?"
"Well it's all very awkward" I told him.

Last night was the first night that it wasn't just an awkward dinner that I wished was over once it started.
I didn't even think about if my eyes were red or not. My head had been pounding all day so there was that.

"Yo, Hales! Come on!" JJ called.
"Boy, get your ass out that boat!" Heyward shouted as Pope climbed into the boat that was starting to pull away.
Looked like that was an end to our conversation.
"I promise I'll do it tomorrow, Dad." Pope said with a cringe.

If there was one thing you didn't want to do, it was make Heyward mad, but a day fishing instead of cleaning was far too tempting for anyone to pass up.

I jumped into the boat as Heyward continued his rant.
"When you get back, you gonna clean shrimp, clean fish..."
"Love you, Pops."
"You'll clean your dirty-ass room!"
I chuckled, "You're so dead when you get back."
Pope shot me a sour look.
"We'll bring him back in one piece." John B interjected. "I promise!"
Heyward chose to ignore him. "And I don't like your friends!!"
