I walked around the corner to see Topper doing a line.
What the fuck?!
"Whoa, Whoa. Hey, take it easy, man." Rafe told Topper as he patted his back. Topper was coughing like crazy. "This isn't your first rodea, is it?"
"Hell, no, it's not!" Topper fired back.
I shook my head and turned back around. I didn't want to watch that.

I had to walk around people who were drunk off their minds and others who were making out to the point where they were basically having sex in front of everyone. It was all just kinda disgusting.

I wasn't even sure how I managed to make it to the stupid party. Kelce said he had to stop somewhere and then someone convinced me to join the party. I don't know...
I wanted to leave but I had no way of doing that.

But then after about an hour of me being at the stupid party I bumped into someone. Like, literally, head butted into them on accident.
"Oh-Shit, sorry!" I mumbled, immediately backing away.
"Ow" A familiar voice said then chuckled, "It's fine."
I zoned in on who it was just to recognize Rafe. "Oh...it's you." I frowned. "Never mind."
"Never mind?" He repeated, confused. "You're not sorry anymore?"
"No."

Rafe grinned. "Seriously?! Why not?"
"Because it's you. You don't deserve a sorry." I shrugged.
Rafe scoffed, still smiling. "Why don't I deserve a sorry?!"
"Well, I don't know-maybe because you are rude and, oh yeah, a drug addict."
"Ouch, that one hurt." Rafe joked while putting his hand over top of his heart.
"You know-I saw you over there, with Topper. How did you even get over here so fast. That's beside the point-the fuck was he doing?! Is he out of his mind?!"

Rafes smile immediately dropped. "You saw that?"
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Yes. I saw that."
"You cannot tell Sarah, Haley. Do you understand? You can't."
"Sarah doesn't know?!"
Rafe dropped his head in his hands. "No. Sarah doesn't know."

"Rafe! Do you not realize how fucked up that is?"
Rafe looked back up at me. "No, Haley. I don't. So just please, do not tell Sarah. You know how she runs her mouth. Topper will never hear the end of it and quite frankly, neither will I."
I scoffed. "You seriously think that I will keep your little secret?"
"Yes, I do." He shrugged.
"I'm telling Sarah. She deserves to know that her boyfriend is doing cocaine." I told him and turned to walk away.

Rafe grabbed my arm and turned me back around. I went to scream at him and tell him to let go of me but he actually looked completely sincere.
"Please." He begged.
And so, just maybe, just a teeny tiny little bit, I folded....completely.
I sighed. "Fine, I won't tell her. But that doesn't mean that this isn't totally fucked up."

Rafes face relaxed and he slowly let go of me. "Yeah, whatever."
I scoffed. "See-That right there-That is why you don't deserve a, sorry."
Rafe smiled as I turned and walked away from him.
Seconds later I was on the phone with John B, begging him to pick me up.

"Okay, we're near that place anyway. Be there in like 5 minutes." John B finally told me.
"Thank you!" I exclaimed, "Bye!"
"Bye."
I hung up and slid my phone back in my pocket.
Apparently all of the pogues were just driving around together. They were thinking about trying to convince Kies dad to let them have the left overs at The Wreck. Sounded like a good plan to me.

Eventually John B arrived and I jumped into the Twinkie.
I immediately relaxed. It just felt like home inside the Twinkie.
"How the hell did you end out here?" Pope asked in shear disgust.
I sighed. "I don't even know. I went from the beach to Kelces car to the front porch to going inside of the house to talking to Rafe-"
"Wait-Kelce-Rafe-Haley, what the hell happened?!" Kie asked me.
"I don't know!!" I replied, putting my hands up in surrender

"Are we going to The Wreck?" John B interrupted.
Kie nodded and went to reply but JJ answered for her.
"Yes!" JJ spoke and pointed at John B.
John B shook his head and chuckled as he made a turn down the road that would take us to The Wreck.

Here's a little thing about us: Every summer no matter how good or bad Kiara's parents business is doing, we spend at least one night trying to convince her dad to let us have a bunch of food for free. Me and John B used to shove left overs in our pockets and bring some food home to dad. I guess we won't be doing that anymore...

"Sup, Mike!" I greeted as I walked into the building.
Mike looked up and sighed. "Hey, Haley."
I don't think he liked me very much.
"I haven't seen you yet since the summer started. How have you been?" I asked, trying to start a conversation. I looked to my right to see one of the chairs sitting on top of one of the many tables. Somebody had just mopped.

I took the chair and flipped it, sat it down, and sat on it.
"I've been good, Haley. How have you been?"
"Well thank you for asking, Mike. I've been pretty good."
He walked to the back for only a moment and as he did that Kiara slapped my arm. "Don't make him upset."
"I'm not!" I defended.
Then he walked back out.

"Hey, umm, how has everything with your dad been goin?" Mike asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Kiara's eyes widened as he asked this question. "Dad!" She whisper-yelled.
"I'm just asking!" He whisper-yelled back.
"I can hear you guys, you know?" I intervened.
They both looked down at me. Mike cleared his throat. "Right-Yeah-Sorry, you don't have to answer that."

I shrugged. "It's fine. He's not dead yet. They haven't found his body. I would like to believe he's out there somewhere just trying to find the money to come home."
Mike slowly nodded his head. "I'm so sorry, Haley."
I let out a chuckle and stood up, trying to lighten the mood. "You didn't send him away." Then I walked over to the guys to see what they were doing.

JJ was messing with the stuff on the table while Pope was looking out at the ocean. John B was staring at Kiara.
"So...we were talking about my dad so it was pretty sad over there. I think we have a very good chance of guilt tripping him into letting us have food." I explained.
"Yes..." JJ muttered. I don't think anyone else heard me. John B was too distracted my Kiara and Pope was too distracted by the ocean.
I nodded my head and sat down. "Okay, then..."

Not long after, I was back over with Kiara trying to convince Mike to let us have food. I said it would help me and John B a lot because our uncle T doesn't feed us very well. Then he asked about my mom and I had to lie and say she went back home already.
It was a lot of lying just to make it sound like me and John B needed the food but also not to a point where he had to call social services.
Eventually we were all eating and having fun and the night turned out to be a blast.
