The Blue Star

"Diana ... Diana" I grumbled slightly as I felt someones hands shake me awake, I didn't need to look at the person to know who it was, I could still feel his warmth from where he had fallen asleep next to me.

"Go back to sleep Ed, its too early to get up." I mumbled trying to get comfy once again.

"But Diana look its the blue star" Lucy shouted in excitement. That got my attention, parting my eyes and turning over once more, I looked up causing me to come face to face with the blue star, that seemed to shine bright in the sunrise on the edge of the horizon.

Everyone was quick to pack up and get back to the boat, allowing plenty of time for a good days journey. I didn't know how far the next island was or if the star even lead to an island but all I knew was that we needed to make it there today. It would have been fine if it was a further journey however Eustace couldn't stop and rest like me and the crew could, as he was far to big for the boat and it wasn't like he could fly while he slept. No if we were going to leave this island and follow the star, I needed to make sure that we got to another island before night fall.

It was a nice day to travel, that was if I was on horseback, the sun was high and there wasn't a single breeze. But that was the problem the weather was too nice, with no breeze, the men had to row the boat there self's and with the weather as warm as it was, it made it harder for the men, slowly tiring them out.

"It's a nice day isn't it... a little too nice." I spoke walking over to where Caspian, Edmund and the Captain stood talking. "Would be better if we had even just a little bit of a breeze. How long do you think it will take us to get there now?"

"I'm not sure..." The Captain answered. "But my guess is thats something doesn't want us to get there." I watched as the Captain headed back to the top deck.

"I'm so hungry, I could eat that dragon." The grumpy voice of a hungry sailor spat from behind me, earning a low grumble from Eustace. Even in his dragon form I could tell from the look on his face that he wasn't pleased.

"Its ok Eustace, there'll have to go through me first." Reep spoke unsheathing his sword to prove his point.

"If we don't find land by night fall they may well eat that dragon." The captain spoke once more, I could tell from the tone in his voice that he was hungry and fed up as well. I knew how hungry the sailors were, I was hungry too and my stomach had been reminding me of that all day. However I hadn't let it get to me I was sure that we would find land at some point then we would be able to eat, there was no point on turning on one another.

Thud

My body crashed into Edmunds and then to the ground, as we were both thrown forward. I would have definitely had some bruises had it not been for my soft landing. Edmund let out a low moan as he tried to pick himself up, stopping as he realised I had landed on top of him.

"Are you ok?" I quickly asked, as I pushed your self up slightly allowing Edmund to sit up.

"I'm fine, what was that?"

The boat was moving still, but surely that would have knocked the sailors off balance too, and it seemed that the boat was moving faster then it had been before. There was no wind still and the crew couldn't row that fast, what was moving the boat.

"Your a genious Eustace." Reep cheered.

That was when I saw him, Eustace long tail wrapped around the front of the boat, pulling it along like a horse drawn carriage... but instead it was a dragon drawn ship.

"I guess that will explain what happened. " I laughed as I pushed your self off Edmund before helping him up.  Cheers erupted from around me, we would make it to the island before nightfall all thanks to Eustace, maybe he wasn't as bad as I first thought.
