A/N: I decided to make Elijah and Klaus speak with Mikael separately. I know that's a bit ooc for both of them... but this way I can give each of them the proper time and care in their respective chapters. PLEASE COMMENT!
ALSO KLAUS IS THE NEXT ONE, I PROMISE.
ALSO ALSO THIS STORY IS ALMOST OVER!! Like I'm almost done writing all the chapters. I wanted this to be the first story I'll finish (ever) this year. So I wrote the last chapters before writing this. and it broke my heart, so get ready for tears, my dears lol
ALSO ALSO ALSO lol would you guys prefer I just post all the last chapters (like 17 to 20) in a single day or post one every day for a couple of days? I don't want to scare people by spamming them lol

"I suppose... There's no reason to prolong this," Elijah said, slowly standing up. "I'll get to the bottom of this, brother." He said, with a hand on Klaus' shoulder.
All he wanted was to comfort his little brother, but no matter how much he tried, Elijah could not stop his hands from trembling. He couldn't find the right words. Nothing made sense, not even his oldest memories and convictions about his family...
"Do you really think you can get a straight answer out of him?" Henrik scoffed softly. His words were not unkind; but he looked more annoyed than miserable, unlike the rest of them. "I don't think father plans on telling us much. Not tonight, anyway. Maybe someday..." He smiled, trying to cheer his brothers.
Yet Elijah could not shake off the feeling Henrik knew more than they did about Mikael's sudden change of heart...
"It doesn't matter," Klaus said, staring at the kitchen. He had listened to every word Mikael said without moving. "I-I just..."
"He'll give us answers, brother." Elijah said, swallowing his fears. "No matter what, we'll uncover his secrets tonight."
"What if the truth is worse than the lies?" Klaus mumbled to himself.
"At least it'll be true..." Elijah muttered, unsure if a cruel truth would be better than a tender lie.

"Father." Elijah called, raising his chin and straightening his shoulders. He would not allow his father to see his doubts and fears.
"Hello, Elijah." Mikael smiled softly, sipping his drink—possibly the 30th of the night. He had lost count. He looked weak, tired, and miserable. But his bright blue eyes still burned with rage. "It's finally your turn, then, my boy? Well," he sighed, swallowing and bracing himself for what was to come. "Go ahead, son. I'm sure you have quite a bit to say to me..."
