"you know my smoothies good lia, don't lie." andres told his little sister as she stood by the kitchen table.
"it's alright." malia claimed, not wanting to feed his ego.
"it's ok to not want to admit it." andres smirked and malia scoffed as she walked to her room with her smoothie.
"whatever!" she exclaimed and closed her door behind her. her dad had picked her and her brothers up from school about an hour ago and she had dance in 35 minutes.
she changed into a match green one shoulder sports bra with matching shorts from the brand halo braxton that she shops from religiously. she then sat at her vanity and began pulling her hair into slicked back ponytail and put it in a braid.
after slipping on her uggs, she grabbed her dance bag and met her dad and brothers in the car. after dropping ale off at baseball, diego dropped malia off at the studio leaving andres to get dropped off at basketball.
after her hour private with riley, the rest of the team walked into pyramid with smiles, still happy about their win last week.
"girls! come on. let's go. let's have a big round of applause." abby smiled as the girls clapped for their win, "i think we made applesauce, don't you? now, the group won. they won the overall. but you know what? that was one competition. for this week, we are going to starbound in new jersey. we walk into starbound, you need to be those national champions."
"all right, on the bottom, nia, simply because of the mistake in the choreography. and that dance is easy. it's simple."
"next i have kendall. you need to learn to read music, and you need to learn to hear the music. i'm going to keep her on probation. until i hand her that jacket, she's still proving herself."
"paige, i've seen you do the press better. i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. i thought you did a nice job. next, mackenzie. this week, you are not in the group. you are going to do a solo."
"all right. next i have maddie. you were the highest scoring number in the entire competition. why do you think you're not on the top? i want you to stop resting on your laurels. i want you to keep improving for the next 20 years, not for one competition. do you understand? so, you impressed them. i want you to impress me."
"next i have chloe and malia. neither of you had solos last week but your duet was beautiful and it won. but that's what i expect from the two of you, you've never lost with your duets and you're gonna keep that going."
the two girls nodded with smiles at their spots, they were second row and it was good enough for them. their moms couldn't help but chuckle as they watched the two bump hips.
