Chapter 34

I quickly go pack a bag but Henry stops me, “I'll come with” he says walking in front of me, I wait out in the hallway while he checks out the room. “Okay you're all good” he nods peeking his head out, I quickly start packing my bag and he is watching me, “Zara…” I zip up my bag and look at him. “I'm sorry we weren't here sooner” he sighs stopping in front of me, and he hesitantly pats my head.

“Henry it's okay…I'm okay” I smile and he sighs and nods “Also…you know it’s okay to hug me right” I open my arms and he moves back and forth hesitantly. He opens his arms and I step forward and hug him, he stays still his arms still up “You have to hold me too that's how hugs work” I laugh and feel him hesitantly wrap his arms around me. “There you go good job,” I say and he chuckles, “Wow never thought I'd see the day you hugged someone” I look over and see Jay standing at the door.

“I need to go” Henry pulls away. “Wait Henry.” I grab his wrist “Are you okay?” I ask and he looks at me and then back at Jay “I'm fine…I just have to leave for a couple of weeks I’m sorry doll” he smiles half-heartedly “Oh...really when are you coming back” I ask, he sighs, and places his hands on both sides of my face. “it might be a while…but just remember I'll always be watching” he shakes my head side to side “okay okay” I laugh and he lets go.

“Jay…I'll be back later” Henry leaves patting Jay's shoulder. “I got my bag packed” I smile at Jay and he nods with a smile, “Listen, Rico thinks he's got something and I'm the closest to it so I have to go…but Oliver is gonna stay here with you” he touches my face, “Do you have to go” I ask and he sighs, “How about I help you clean up these cuts…but then i have to go” he chukles and i nod.

“Okay love let's get you cleaned up” he grabs the first aid kit by his bed, and he cleans up the back of my leg first, “Did it hurt?” He asks grabbing my hand “No… I’ve been through worse” I rub my thighs “I know…why did you agree to go” he asks wrapping my hand. “I…I don't know” I shrug looking away.

“Bullshit” he stands up looking down at me, “Why are you mad,” I ask “Because you won’t tell me why!” he raises his voice “Hey! Don't get all pissy with me!” I stand up. “Then tell me why!” He yells “Hey what's going on” Oliver walks in “Why do you want to know!” I yell at Jay “Because!” He yells back “Hey guys-”.

“Stay out of this Oliver!” I shout he puts his hands up and backs away “Nothing happened im still here it doesn't matter” I huff “It does matter why won't you just tell me!” He yells “Jay you better stop yelling at me now” I growl. “Then tell me!” He yells “Why didn't you take the shot!” I snap, I immediately gasp “I..I'm sorry” I shake my head “No…It's okay…you're… I love you” he pulls me close to him, “I'm still sorry” I look down resting my head on his chest. “It doesn't matter love…I love you so let me see that smile” he picks up my head and I pout.

“Awe come on let me see that smile” he pokes my face, I smirk trying to stifle my laugh “Oh you can do better than that” he picks me up, “Jay put me down” I try to break free “No i need to see that beautiful smile before I leave” he shakes me. “Jay stop” I chuckle “Oh come on I can't see your face” he shakes me more, “okay okay” I laugh and look at him “There she is” he smiles.

“No…there you are” I look at him smiling, I kiss him and he holds me close and kisses me passionately but he is so gentle. He slowly puts me back down And pulls away from our kiss, “I love you Zara” he kisses my forehead, “I love you too Jay” I smile and he smiles at me “I have to go my love” he slowly lets go of my hand. I watch him leave the room “Oliver make sure you take care of her” I hear him say and a couple of steps later I hear the front door close.

I lay on the bed for a few minutes, then I see Oliver peep his head in the room “Hey sis” he says with a forced smile, “Hey Oliver what's up” I ask sitting on the bed, “Um…nothing… I was just checking on you…we’ll be leaving soon” he clears his throat, “Okay…hey Oliver… I just wanted to say thank you… I know you are Jay aren’t the biggest fans of each other…but thank you for not taking me away from here” I smile and he nods

“You’re right…we don't like each other but…umm…we both….love you umm…and we want to protect you” he smiles. “Come on gather any stuff you need we should get going” he grabs my bag, “Yeah I'm  just gonna grab a couple of more stuff,” I say and he nods leaving the room. I grab another bag and pack some of Jay's clothes, “This man needs clothes too” I chuckle zipping up the bag. I put the bag on my shoulder and go outside to the car, I see Oliver pacing back and forth in front of the car.

“I…I can't do this man I can’t do it…it's going to break her” I hear him whisper “Oliver? Are you okay?” I ask, he freezes and looks at me “No…I understand…” he sighs and then hangs up the phone. “Umm…it's just…here sit down” he pats the roof of the car. I confusingly sit down and he gently grabs my hands “They got Jay” he says and I feel my heart drop, my whole body doesn't feel real anymore I feel goosebumps run all over me like I can feel each hair stand up on me.
