The next day had arrived and we had to do another test. The thing is that I can't get what Cordelia said out of my head. What did she mean by you must prepare yourself? I heard the door buzz and knew that Nurse Connie was on her way with breakfast."Eat". She demanded. Tyler had already brought Parker's breakfast and gave him a good morning along with a quote of the day. I finished my breakfast and was taken for another shower. So was parker.

After we had gotten ready, we were taken to our assigned rooms. No mannequins which was good. The room looked plain as usual. I saw a woman in the middle of the room. She had a white shirt, tucked into a grey skirt. Her hair was tied into a bun and she wore thick black glasses. "Hello Piper. Today we are going to give you a challenge" she spoke to me like a baby. "I'm not a weapon you know" I grunted as I rolled my eyes. She gave me a smile and clonked off to the corner of the room in her overly loud heels. "So now what?" I just stood there and Nurse Connie observed. That's when I heard the door open. "You may have some help with this test. We want to see how your partnering skills are" said the woman in the corner. I saw Parker entering the room. For some reason I actually felt quite happy to see him. "I'm sure you have met parker. I hope you both work well together for this task. Good luck" the woman smiled. Her smile annoyed me so much."Hey" smiled Parker as he stood next to me. There was no time for introductions. I couldn't make it up even if I tried. The woman in the corner stepped forward. She let out a moan. The babyish tone soon turned into a chilling deep voice. The roots of her hair flowed down turning jet black, falling out of the bun. Her skin began to turn a dark grey as her forehead began to reveal multiple eyes opening. Her stomach made a weird gurgling sound. I saw her white shirt beginning to fade blood patches on the side of her waist. Her flesh began to tear as thin exceeding black legs began to slowly unfold themselves out of her stomach. A slimy substance dripped off of them, as they touched the ground. Her two legs fell off clicking to the ground. They were prosthetic. She smiled, revealing sets of fangs. Two pincers extended from under her nose. The back of her extended and swelled up like a balloon. The woman had become half spider. It was horrifying to look at. My eyes had never been so wide. What on earth was that? All of a sudden the speakers on the ceiling began to go static as a voice spoke. "Hello Piper. Hello Parker. I want to see how you work together with your unique gifts. This is a failed subject. She doesn't know it, but we want you to kill her. Before she kills you. Her name is Anancy". Me and Parker looked at each other in disbelief. Then the walls began to fall down. And the ceiling flickered away. We were standing in a gigantic room. The floor began to open up and I saw bushes arise, towering over us. Anancy had run off. We were in a maze.

It was silent. This was a bad thing. Anancy could hear our every move. We had no clue where she was. The fear had started to get to me. "Piper. Are you okay?" Asked Parker, still sounding confident. I wasn't sure how to answer."may- maybe?" I stuttered. "Where do you think she went?" He asked as he looked at me. Before I could answer we heard a loud scream sounding like fingernails scraping along a blackboard. It was the most dreadful noise. Parker grabbed my hand and ran to the left dragging me with him. We kept going until he began to run out of breath. He put his hand on his knees as his chest moved in and out at a rapid pace. I looked around but all I could see was endless bushes. I noticed it was getting a little foggy. "Wait. Parker, I just had an idea!" I kept poking at him. He looked at me. "I can try to fly up there and get a view of the maze, i mean if i can make other things fly, why can't i make myself fly?". He looked at me, worried. He gave me a nod. I exhaled and concentrated. I imagined myself rising off the ground towards the sky. It began to work and I thought I was getting to the top, until I realised the bushes were growing with me. I looked back down at Parker and didn't realise how high I was. It freaked me out and I lost focus. I came plummeting to the ground. But I felt the security of someone's arms catch me as I nearly hit the ground. I opened my eyes and saw Parkers. For some reason I couldn't look away. Something made me feel safe in his eyes. I felt trust. Security.confidence. He gave me an awkward laugh and helped me back on my feet. We continued to move on.
