PART TWELVE- THE BEGINNING OF THE END

Who the fuck just got shot. I turned my head expecting the worst. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Tyler had shot Shaun. He had a gun hidden on him this whole time. Shaun was on the ground. I could see his shirt slowly revealing a circle of blood. He couldn't get up. Parker ran to help him but Tyler stood in front of him. "Take one more step and I'll shoot you too" he threatened, holding the gun up to Parker's head. "NO!" I screamed. Tyler pressed onto his walkie and spoke "They fell for the trap". Are you serious. I wanted to hurt Tyler so badly. But if I moved he would kill Parker.

By that time a dozen of guards came running into the room. If I moved he would shoot Parker. If I didn't I was going to get caught. I didn't move a muscle. Instead I used my mind to send Parker flying across the room, out of reach from Tyler to aim. Thats when Tyler pulled the trigger on me. I tilted my head up and the gun went up, missing me. I'd barely saved myself. The guards had all surrounded me. Like this would be a problem. I was prepared to break all of their necks. I would kill as many as I need to. I've been screwed over for the last time. I raised my hands in the air as if I were to surrender. I was ready to kill them all, but that's when I was interrupted by another person coming into the room. It was nurse Connie. "I know your secret you deceptive piece of shit! Reveal yourself shifter! REVEAL YOURSELF" I shouted louder and louder. The shifter raised its hand to signal the guards to stand down. It let out a laugh in nurse Connie's voice. The laugh continued until it began to turn creepy and distorted. The shifter began to change. Nurse Connie's facial features were being re arranged. Her eyes turned a golden brown and her hair shortened, turning grey. It began to turn into a man. He wore a grey suit with a black tie. He was rather tall and had a rather pointed nose. "You see Piper, that's where you're wrong" he spoke with a deep tone. "I'm not a shifter. In fact, I'm not telekinetic. Yes I was the man in the cloak who caught Cordelia. "Your problem Piper, is you never thought what else was possible. You're wrong about so many things. I was right under your nose and you had no idea. Of course I knew that Shaun was in your room. I had my friend Tyler here help me". The man laughed. "The names Rowan" he announced. Where had I heard that before. No fucking way. That was the name of Connie's first love. The supposed shifter. "Your Connie's first love" I replied. "Ah so Tyler told you the story. Well he didn't tell you everything. You see the moment poor Connie saw me 'die' I was actually taken into a cell and healed. Apparently my gift was rare and they wanted to see more of it. My guard however was none other than Tyler himself. This is how I escaped. Me and Tyler decided that it was time for a change of ownership around here. Especially for what I was capable of. I easily overpowered everyone after Tyler set me free from those dreadful handcuffs. You see Piper. The best leaders create their followers through fear and admiration. Everyone knew I couldn't be beaten. I got stronger every day. My gift is a rather special gift. It requires others for it to work. I have the powers of absorption. I simply make contact with another persons who has a gift, and I have it too. I first discovered it when I came across a shifter and touched him. Then ever since I became the man in charge I was able to touch each project when they came in. That includes you and Parker. I have everyone's power in this facility. You think you can beat me? I'm faster. I'm wiser. I'm more experienced".

Rowan was right. I was wrong about so many things. "Why did you kill Connie? I thought you were in love!" I asked feeling guilt about her death again. "I was her first love. She wasn't mine. I just used it to my advantage of course. It wasn't until recent that I revealed to nurse Connie my true form, and that it was me the whole time. She had never been so happy. I told my plan. She didn't agree. She tried to prevent me from hurting you. Nurse Connie tried to stop me. Call it a lovers quarrel. She was protective over you. She wouldn't stop trying to protect you. That's when I had the idea to shift into her. Of course we couldn't have two Connie's so I killed her to make sure she didn't spoil my plan" he explained without sympathy. I couldn't believe nurse Connie was good all along and she tried to save my life.

And Before I let him speak again I threw my hands at him and he was sent flying back. I snapped every guards neck with a twist of my hand. No more messing around. I ran to Shaun to see if he was alive. His breathing was slow. Too slow. He had lost so much blood. I wasn't sure what to do. He weakly tapped me. "Piper...remember who you are and follow your heart. He doesn't get to wi-" SNAP. Shaun's neck broke and his pulse vanished. I began to cry. How did that happen. Was it me?! The man in the suit stood up again. "Piper you didn't let me finish" he said as he began to walk to me. He held his hand out and pushed me against the wall. I tried to move but his grip was too strong. He had telekinesis too. Parker ran to stop him and Tyler tackled him onto the floor. Tyler tried multiple times to aim the gun at Parker's head. He managed to dodge every time. Parker punched Tyler multiple times until Tyler hit him with the gun, knocking him off. Parker struggled but Tyler held the side of the gun down on his throat. Parker couldn't breathe. I was watching the man I love slowly die and couldn't do a thing to stop it. Parker began to pass out from the lack of oxygen and he eventually did. "Tyler. We don't want him dead. Just keep him out of it" said Rowan as he continued to hold me against the wall with his powers. "Sure thing" replied Tyler, still on top of Parker. That's when Parker opened his eyes and grabbed hold of Tyler's head. "Suprise asshole!" He shouted as he forced his grip on Tyler's head and kept his eyes open with his fingers. His eyes glowed orange and he was in Tyler's head. Rowan used his other hand to launch Parker away from Tyler. Parker landed and rolled along the floor. When he got up he smiled. I knew he'd done something. The gun mark that had been forced on his throat had began to bruise already. Tyler stood up with the gun in his hand. He slowly raised it up and pressed it against his head. "TYLER SNAP OUT OF IT" yelled Rowan. "What's it gonna be asshole. Me or him?" I muttered. Tyler put his finger on the trigger. Rowan let me go and I fell to the floor. He ran to Tyler and pushed him on the floor the gun shot only just missing his head. Rowan held his hands on Tyler's head and his eyes glowed orange. Tyler snapped out of it. Did he just use Parker's powers?! Does he have both of ours?! Nothing makes sense anymore. Right now my main priority was Parker. I didn't care about my safety.

I noticed the door I had previously sent flying into the wall. I saw it and threw it across the room with my powers. It hit Tyler and Rowan. Parker was smart enough to duck. He ran to me and we fled into the corridor. Rowan chased us down along with Tyler. Let the manhunt begin.
