PART TEN -REVELATIONS

Me and Parker were stuck in our rooms while who knows what's happening to Tyler and Shaun. We need to do something but what? We literally had no choice but to wait until morning. I hated it. Waiting for the wall clock to hit 6 am was torture. It felt as if time was deliberately going slow. I felt guilty. Maybe if I had just reported Shaun Tyler would be okay. But then Shaun was innocent. This situation was so shitty. I wasn't sure if Parker could hear me crying or not but he hadn't said a word since they took Tyler and Shaun away. "Piper. I think they are.. you know" he broke the silence. "No. It's not over till I hear that they are dead" I replied with determination. Once morning had finally arrived I had a plan. We had to remember Parker didn't have his hands handcuffed. Which means he could still access his powers whenever. I spent the rest of the night talking my plan through with Parker. It was worth a shot. When the door had finally opened and nurse Connie had arrived to take me for my morning routine, they opened our doors. Parker was escorted by guards instead of Tyler.
While I had my shower I was thinking through the plan to make sure it had no flaws. It had to go smoothly if not it could go horribly wrong.

When I was finished I was taken back to my room. I was confused because Shaun had been caught so why weren't we doing a test? "Umm nurse Connie? Shaun is dead how come we aren't doing tests today?" I asked her in hopes of an answer. "Tyler and Shaun are not dead. We haven't prepared your test yet because patient in your room girl" she replied with a grumpy tone. Rude much. We made sure we got back to our rooms at the same time. I gave Parker a nod to let him know I was going to make my first move for the plan. Without thinking about it I sprung onto the guards back. He dropped his gun and i kicked it to Parker. He held the gun up at nurse Connie to keep her from interfering. I held my cuffs round his neck and began to loosen my grip and let the handcuffs keep me on the guards neck. He began to choke and fall back. "UNLOCK THEM" I shouted. He didn't do anything other than choke. "Fine die and I'll do it myself" I pulled tighter on the cuffs and the guards neck began to scar I was pulling with force now. He patted me on the shoulder and reached for his key. I kept the cuffs round his neck but stopped pulling so he could breathe. He pulled the key up and unlocked the handcuffs fell to the ground. I did it. Phase one was complete. I smiled and held my hands out. Nurse Connie flew back and went unconscious. She wasn't injured, just knocked out. The guard who was still gasping for breath, tried to grab me. Parker jumped in and his eyes glowed. He'd gotten into the guards mind. The guard fell on the floor and had his arms and legs stretched out. He was struggling as if he had been tied down. "I made him think he's been chained to the ground. He'll be there for a while" said Parker. I looked at him. I felt exhilarated. The adrenaline was rushing through me. I couldn't believe it worked. I gave Parker a kiss. A long lasting one. A steamy one. When I stopped kissing him I could tell he enjoyed it. He had gone bright red and was stuttering for words. I thought it was cute and laughed. "Come on let's go!" I yelled as if that didn't just happen. I grabbed nurse Connie's key card and opened the door. We were out. The door locked behind us. Good luck getting out now. Phase two had started. We had to figure out where Tyler and Shaun were. This is where Parker steps in. He was going to look through my memories and find the part when we ran to the supply closet after the reflector escaped. This way he'd see the directions since I couldn't remember. "I got it!" He yelled as he grabbed my hand and began to run.

After a few corners and long corridors, we had found the supply closet. I couldn't believe it worked. We both hopped inside to catch a breath and move forward. It had been a while since we had been in here. Then we both could smell this horrible smell. The jars smelt worse than I remember. I reached out for the light string but that's when I felt my foot stand on another. "Sorry Parker didn't mean to stand on your foot" I apologised. But that's when he replied with "Piper that wasn't my foot you stood on.." my stomach dropped. Then whose foot was it. I fount the light string and pulled it. The light flickered on and as it did, something fell onto the ground. Something big. It was covered in a white sheet that had been securely tied up. I used my powers to snap them off. "Let me" said Parker as he slowly knelt down next to the sheet. He slowly pulled it back, revealing a body. The body was nurse Connie. I covered my mouth because we heard guards running past the door. They were looking for us. My eyes slowly and silently dropped tears down my cheek. Parker fell backwards. What the fuck. I was shaking and my stomach felt like I was gonna throw up. Parker got up and hugged me, blocking my view from nurse Connie's dead body. Her lifeless eyes staring into nothingness. Her pale, deteriorating face white as snow, her neck disoriented at a 90 degree angle. Wait a minute. "Parker look at her neck" I pointed out to him. He turned his head and noticed the same thing i had. Nurse Connie wasn't just dead. She was murdered. "How is this possible? I left nurse Connie by our rooms and she definitely wasn't dead" I began to tear up again. "Fuck. This is bad" said Parker. "I know that!" I began to raise my voice. "That's not what i mean Piper" he replied calmly. I was confused. "The other day I had noticed that I couldn't hear nurse Connie's thoughts. I thought my powers weren't working properly because scarlet nearly killed me, I just needed to give it time. But when I was able to access Shaun's memories and yours, I knew something was off. There was only one possible solution. That wasn't nurse Connie. It was someone else wearing her face" Parker began to explain. That's when I realised. My eyes widened and I stopped crying. I muttered one word. "Shifter".
