Later that night I woke up wondering. How long am I gonna be here? I can't be here for my whole life. I'll either go crazier than scarlet or die from the repetitive routine. It got me thinking. If I were to escape. How would I do it? The halls are like a maze, the guards are everywhere. The security cameras would pick up the slightest body movement. It's beyond possible. Unless we worked together. What about the other kids? Ava, Shaun, Cordelia and Jeremy. I could find where they are kept but that could be dangerous. They could kill us for all we know. But what kind of life do we have down here? I need to ignore my thoughts, before they get me in trouble.

After tossing and turning I'd fallen asleep. I had the strangest dream. About the man in the cloak me and Parker saw. He managed to capture Cordelia with a clap. But he did a similar thing to me. Wait. Holy shit. Did he have telekinesis too?! I have to know who he is.

Morning came and the wall clock deafened us. Same routine. Boring as always. Nurse Connie and Tyler came down to open our doors with their keycards. That's when I realised. Did Scarlett get a carer? But before I could guess Connie and Tyler started escorting me and Tyler to the showers, leaving scarlet behind.

As we were taken to today's test, I couldn't help but wonder about scarlet. What was going to be done with her? We began to approach a door which I assumed was the room we were going to be in. That's when the room opposite gave a loud thud. We all stopped still. Connie rotated her head and spectated the surroundings. Another thud. Then dust began to fall from the ceiling. Connie looked at Tyler and I looked at Parker. Then the wall exploded. The blast from the explosion sent me, Parker Connie and Tyler flying in different directions. I landed on top of Parker's lap whereas Connie and Tyler landed out of my sight. The bricks barely missed my head and only gave me some cuts on my arms. Parker hit his head on the door we landed against. I saw a purple bruise showing already. The ringing in my ears repeated and the air was swarming with dust from the concrete wall. I heard crawling from down the corridor and it faded. The only thing I could feel was Parker's arms wrapped around me trying to keep me safe. It made me feel warm inside. That's when he tapped me on the shoulder and took my hand. "Come on, let's go!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me up. He ran and I followed sort of being dragged along when I struggled to match his speed. We raced down the hall ahead not knowing where we would end up. "Parker we could get into so much trouble for this!" Was the first thing I had blurted out after my hearing was no longer muffled. Before he could reply we heard footsteps. He slipped round the corner with me in his arms again and had his hand over my mouth. When the coast was clear he lowered his head and whispered into my ear: "your safe with me". This made me a little creeped out but also gave me a little party in my stomach. We were so close to each other I could smell his body wash from his shower. It smelt so good. I didn't want to move from this but I knew we had to. "We aren't safe here" I replied. That's when I noticed a door labelled 'supply closet'. I pointed my finger to it and Parker nodded. We crept in there and shut the door. It was completely dark so we had to look for a light switch. Problem was we had no idea how big or how small the room was. I held my hands out like a zombie and tried to feel for a wall. That's when something touched my face and I freaked out, tripping over. "What happened?!" I heard Parker yell. "Something touched my face!" I replied breathing rapidly. I felt Parker's foot touch my back and he gave a laugh. "Piper, it's a string for the light". He pulled it and the light flickered on. "I'm such an idiot" I tried to hide my smile. The room wasn't as big as I thought it would be in fact it was rather small. There were tonnes of shelves with random equipment and weird ingredients. That's when I saw Parker coughing in the corner of my eye. He turned around so quickly and tried to stay on his feet. "What? What is Parker?!" I asked, concerned. "Please don't look. You just don't want to" he replied with a disgusted look on his face. I went anyway because I was curious. Big mistake. An entire shelf full of jars with a big sign above saying 'spare/salvaged parts' there were hands, arms, eyes and feet on each shelf. That's when I got to the worst part. A human head. The horror in my eyes. This wasn't any human head. It was the nurse that scarlet killed. In fact all of the body parts I saw were the nurse's remains. The salvaged parts scarlet hadn't mauled. I thought I was going to throw up but I hadn't. "Hey don't look" I heard Parker say behind me. I turned to him for comfort. He gave me a hug and held me close to his chest. Why did I want him so much? What made me think about him for reassurance? I pulled away quickly. "What's wrong?" He asked in a disappointed tone. "I can't let this happen to myself" I replied. He looked confused. "Let what happen?" He asked. "I can't rely on you to make me feel safe. It's always been just me. And I can't let that change. Especially if I'm in a fight". He looked annoyed now. "Of course you can Piper! I'm always here for you". I felt bad for rejecting his comfort. "Don't you get it Parker?! You're my weakness! This is not good for me. Becoming close with someone can destroy me. I can't let that happen". I felt a tear stroll down my cheek. He slowly walked up to me. I continued to walk backwards until I ended up against the wall. He stood directly in front of me. "But I'm also your strength. I know your my strength Piper. You've kept me sane down here for days. Every day is a literal adventure with you. Emotions don't make you weak. They make you strong and you make me strongest, especially when I'm at my weakest" he continued to say as he lifted his hand up and wiped my tear away with his finger. That's when I felt him getting closer towards my face, and for some reason I was moving too. We both leaned in for each other and I felt his lips touch mine. Crazy how my first kiss is in a secret facility and we are probably being hunted right now. I was actually enjoying this. He made me feel good. He made me feel strong. Maybe he was right. Maybe he was my strength. And not just my weakness. This wasn't just any ordinary kiss. This was THE kiss. It felt so pure and intimate. He held his hands against my cheeks as I held mine around his back. I can't lie, it got quite intense.
