Kevin took me under the stars today.
I was panting by the time we were done, my lips swollen and cheeks tinted red. He had been slacking off from walking me home and wanted to make it up to me in some way.
I wanted to tell him he didn't need to.
The way he made me laugh at the smallest things, cry at the smallest tales or smile against those lips. It was enough. He was enough.
The night was still young when his phone lit up with a notification. He grabbed it from the ground and looked at it, his forehead scrunching up.
"What happened?" I asked him as he pulled himself away from me, taking the jacket.
"My aunt." He explained, "She needs me to buy her groceries for dinner." He didn't even kiss me when he left. Taking the warmth with him.
I found myself so cold and empty, trying to find comfort amongst the stars that were littered across the skies.
However even those seemed to leave me behind as a thick canopy of cloud took over, resembling the claws around my heart.
