After just three days, the group were getting restless.
Changbin hadn't told them anything valuable yet, and he seemed to be settling into his surroundings easier than they had anticipated. It was even at a point now where he would do push ups to keep his body busy between meals, and would often sing to himself to drown out the deafening silence.
He knew they had no idea what they were doing with him, and it comforted him.
"We need to show him we're serious." Hyunjin said, pacing the staff room. "He doesn't think Chan or Jisung would let anything happen to him, so he's just waiting us out."
"The one time we need him to see you guys as monsters, he decides to ignore it." Felix rolled his eyes, slumping in his chair.
"We could stop feeding him for a while? Humans gets pretty desperate when they don't have food." Minho suggested from the kitchenette.
"Nah, that would take too long. We need to start getting answers from him soon, before the radicals find him." Chan responded, racking his brain.
Obviously, he didn't want to hurt Changbin, but he couldn't see any other method of getting him to talk in a time-efficient manner.
"We could use the Chinese water torture method." Minho suggested, but immediately retracted his statement based off of the looks he got from everyone.
"We need to scare him, like really scare him. We need to make a threat big enough that will scare him, but small enough that he'd believe we'd actually do it." Chan said, looking to the floor. "Threatening him with violence won't do much. He's a resilient guy, and holds extremely high morals. He wouldn't sell out others to guarantee his own safety."
"What about his family?" Hyunjin piped up, looking between Chan and Jisung. "Has he got any family around?"
"Just his mom and grandma. His dad works overseas." Jisung answered. "But they've always been so kind to me and Chan, I don't think I can hurt them."
"We don't have to actually hurt them." Minho clarified, placing a hand on his boyfriend's shoulder. "We just need Changbin to think we will."
"Do you guys have the names and addresses of his mom and grandma?" Felix asked, turning to the two.
"Uh, yeah, we have names. I know where his mom lives, not sure about his grandma." Chan shrugged, unsure.
"Didn't his grandma move in with his mom a little while ago?" Jisung asked, concentrated eyes mimicking a concerned expression.
"Oh, wait yeah! Because of the hip thing." Chan responded, gesturing to his own hip.
"Yeah, she can't walk anymore." Jisung nodded, before forcing himself to drop the enthusiasm.
They talked so fondly over Changbin's family that it almost hurt to remind themselves of the situation they were in.
"What about any aunts or uncles? Cousins?" Minho asked, trying to get as much information as possible. "We need to know everyone close to him, to show him we have eyes on everyone."
Chan shook his head.
"His mom's only sister passed away a few years ago, and his dad's an only child. Mr. Seo's dad died in the Vietnam War, when he was just a few months old. His mom never remarried." The brunet elaborated.
"He was a soldier?" Hyunjin raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, Senior NCO Seo Jeoban. You can see where Changbin gets his military-style discipline, it's in the genes." Jisung joked.
