When everyone had left, and the house was quiet, Jisung gently padded upstairs to his shared room with Minho, wishing on every shooting star that the elder had calmed down.
He had never seen Minho so angry, so ruthless. It was a shock to the system, to say the least.
"Minho?" Jisung called gently, his voice quiet and barely above a whisper - as if he was afraid to be any louder in case it evoked more rage from his boyfriend.
"Hmm?" A voice called, and as Jisung stepped into the room, his eyes landed on Minho, who was sat on the bed reading a book.
He looked a little too calm.
"Are you.. are you okay?" The younger took some gentle steps towards the bed, wondering if now was the time to have the conversation.
Minho let out a sigh, folding the corner of the page he was reading before setting the book down on the nightstand.
"Yeah, sorry." He grumbled into his hands as he rubbed his face.
"What happened?" Jisung asked, now more confident to talk with the other as he sat himself beside him on the bed. "You got so angry so fast."
Minho let out another sigh, clearly uncomfortable with his actions, but accepting them nonetheless.
"I just hate how close those radicals are to us. They know too much." Minho responded with a grumble.
"But why did it affect you so much? To the point of just wanting to hurt someone?" Jisung frowned, taking the elder's hand in his own.
"They tried to kill our closest friends, twice. And with what they know now, they actually have a chance." Minho responded flatly, as if trying to suppress his rage.
"I know, and it's shitty. But even when Chan came here bleeding you weren't that angry." Jisung said, shooting the elder a concerned look.
"I dunno, it's just getting more real. Before, they were just dumb humans trying to hunt what would kill them. Now, it's like they actually have a plan, they're actually actively trying to take people from us."
"They won't." Jisung soothed, his thumb running over Minho's palm. "You said it yourself, two of us is stronger than five of them."
"I know." Minho sighed for the nth time. "But I don't want to risk it anymore. I'm sick of it."
"Has this happened before?" Jisung asked, worried.
It seemed like Minho had went through this type of thing before, and it showed in his reaction.
"You remember how I told you I was turned." Minho said, locking eyes with Jisung. "How I lost my best friend to that."
"I do." Jisung's face softened.
"Well, back then I was weak, I could come to terms with it, no matter how horrible it was. But now, we're the ones in a position of power but I still feel like we're cornered."
Jisung cooed softly, snuggling into Minho's shoulder.
"We're not cornered, we're waiting. We're making sure we know everything before we react." Jisung spoke.
"And every day we wait, they find out something else about us that can push us against a wall. I know we're strong, Ji, and I know we can take them, but there's always gonna be a first punch, and I'm starting to worry how strong theirs will be."
Jisung nodded, shoulders sinking as he listened to his boyfriend's words.
"Hurting Changbin won't weaken the blow." Jisung said tentatively.
