ANYA PLAYED WITH HER PADAWAN BRAID AS SHE WAITED. Her master, Eshe Sou, was currently in a meeting with the Jedi Council getting orders for a mission.

Over Anya's seven years as a Padawan she and Eshe became a duo to be reconned with.

While other padawans were taught how to fight and different techniques with the force, Anya's training focused more on foreign affairs, espionage, and investigations. Eshe and her were called in if a Jedi went missing, if a high senate member was murdered, or to calm down a civil dispute before it escalated to violence. Anya loved her role for they traveled all over the galaxy, seeing new places and learning new cultures. Yet all the traveling left them to never have a permanent home.

Anya barley spent anytime on Coruscant, most of her time was on a ship as they traversed to different exotic planets. During their traveling, Anya would be taught her normal lessons of lightsaber wielding and force using on the ship. This led Anya to be a bit behind other padawans, but she didn't mind. Eshe taught her many things like how to adapt to the environment, how to build relations, how to collect information, how to notice details, and how to prevent leaving details behind yourself. By 17 years old, Anya was virtually impossible to track. Dirt was left unturned by footprints, branches weren't snapped by passing shoulders, not a single ounce of dust was put out of place by her.

Despite all of their travels, the duo still had yet to make it to Kaeili and Anya waited patiently to make it back to her home. She only had about two years left of her training, if they didn't go when she was a padawan she would surely go when she was a knight and had the freedom to do so.

Anya missed her home dearly. Though exploring exotic planets was fascinating, none of them could hold a candle to Kaeili. Kaeili was gorgeous, it was her home.

Til that day she could go back, Anya would have to obey orders. Her current mission was a senator was kidnapped and the Jedi council wanted Anya and Eshe to look into it.

Anya inspected herself when she caught sight of her reflection in a window. She wore a tan jumper with a white robe over it that went down to her knees. Leather straps were tied around her waist, wrists, and ankles - each having notches and designs drawn into them when she got bored. Her feet were bare and her golden brown hair cascaded loosely down her shoulders. Her piercings had grown in numbers since she was a child.

Anya touched her face, sighing at the blank tan canvas in front of her. Markings were to come in when a Kaeilish was 'of age'. Anya didn't know what that age was, but she patiently awaited the marks off her people to someday bloom on her face. Til then, she was still just a kid.

"Anya," Eshe walked out of the council, her long dark robes swishing. "Come along, I will brief you on the way there."

Anya fell in step with her Master as she explained what was happening. A senator by the name Onaconda Farr was kidnapped the other day and since he is apparently an important member of the senate the Jedi were asked to intercede.

"So why lower-Coruscant?" Anya asked her Master when she told her their destination. "Farr was working on some proposal to clean up the streets of the lower levels which angered a lot of the crime lords down there. They will be our best leads if not our culprit."

Eshe and Anya hopped on some speeders and descended into the lower levels of Coruscant where the air was thicker and the streets were louder compared to that of the Jedi temple. Anya wasn't exactly fond of Coruscant's underground, not because of the danger and crime, but because every time she went there it served as a reminder of how isolated the temple was from the world. While the Jedi lived above the city behind marble walls, people were starving in the streets. It hurt Anya whenever she saw the despair, confused as to how a government could let their people suffer like that. In Kaeili, no one went hungry. If there was ever a drought or lack of food a person would simply have to ask their neighbor and they would be more than willing to help out. Yet it seemed that in other parts of the galaxy, that sentiment was not shared. Especially not in Coruscant.
