"I CAN'T BELIEVE ANAKIN CONVINCED YOU TO COME WITH ME." Padme said as she and Anya walked together. "I told him that I can handle myself, but he can't get that through his thick skull.""I am right here." Anakin spoke up from where he trailed behind the duo.
Padme sent him a cold glare. "I know."
Anya chuckled as she followed Padme, the dress of her handmaiden costume trailing behind her. The night prior, the trio planned how the spy mission would go. Padme would be distracting Clovis while Anya would be sneaking around and investigating. They decided their plan was for the best since Padme would be putting herself in less danger while Anya, the professional, could do what she was trained to do. Anakin, of course, insisted that he too should come along so he sported the disguise of a Naboo pilot.
"Someone has to take you down a couple notches once in a while Anakin." Anya spoke as they stopped in front of Padme's ship. "Otherwise your body would not be able to support the size of your head."
Padme snickered as Anakin rolled his eyes. "Oh ha ha very funny."
"What is truly funny is seeing you in a pilots outfit. I imagine it will be hard for you to pretend to be something you are not." Anya said, innocently tilting her head as Anakin seethed.
"I am a good pilot and you know it!"
"Tell that to all the ships you blew up."
As the two bickered, Padme caught sight of someone else and waved them over. "Clovis!"
Anya glanced behind her to see an awfully pale looking man join their trio.
"He does not look well." Anya murmured causing Anakin to begin snorting.
"Padme," The man,who Anya deduced as Senator Clovis, greeted. "You look exquisite." He placed two kisses on Padmes' cheeks that Anya admitted were a bit too slow to just be friendly.
"Anya," Anakin grumbled next to her, tightening his hand into a firm fist. "Steady." She whispered back to him.
Clovis paid Anya and Anakin no mind as the group made their way onto the ship. His eyes were solely focused on Padme while Anakins eyes were solely on Clovis.
"If you get tired, you can rest your head on my shoulder." Clovis offered as they entered the shuttle. Behind the senators backs, the Jedi locked eyes. Anya made a face at the offer which caused Anakin to chuckle lightly.
Good. Anya thought. The further away she could keep Anakin from murdering this guy, the quicker she could get back. Plus less paperwork for her.
"Allow me, my lady." Anakin said, pushing his way to the seats when he noticed Clovis going for the one next to Padme. "Oh, and this one's...broken." Anakin declared as he not so subtly jammed the handle. He looked Clovis directly in the eyes and gave him an unapologetic smirk. "Too bad."
