"Rishu uncle, rishu uncle, look at that bear!"
Rishabh was dragged near the big glass windows of the toy store where a massive pink Teddy bear was displayed. It was very cute, but not as cute as his niece though. "You want it, beta?" The little child seemed skeptical. "Papa won't scold you. I'll tell him that I insisted to get you that bear." "Really?" "Hmm." "Pinky promise?" Aleya extended her little pinky towards him. She was a precious little child and the cricketer already felt so protective of her. "Pinky promise."
They got the Teddy but as it was too big for Aleya to carry, her Rishu uncle took up the job. "Aleya, do you go to school?" "Yes, uncle! I am in Upper Kinder Garten. Soon, I will be in class 1." "Do you have many friends?" The bubbly personality shrunk a little at this question, the cheerful girl quietening suddenly.
Rishabh realised he had hit a sore spot for the child. "I am so sorry baby. I should not have asked." "Aleya doesn't have many friends, Uncle. No one wants to talk with her in the school." He panicked when he saw the doe eyes glistening with tears. "Shh, shh. Aleya is a big girl, right? Big girls don't cry, do they?" She shook her head and sniffled. Her little nose wrinkled slightly and Gods above, Rishabh could physically feel his heart melting at the cuteness overload. "Do you want to watch a movie?" "What is a movie?" "It is like a cartoon but for longer. Come on, let me show you the best movie to ever exist."
The prospect of seeing something new distracted her attention and they both went hand in hand, jumping on their way to the kids movies theatre in the mall they had visited out of boredom. Well, Aleya had solved the cube within 20 minutes after her dad left. So, Rishabh took her to the mall to spend time.
They were extremely lucky as the kids theatre was having a recapitulation of the movie, "Frozen." After getting two tickets, one bucket of buttered popcorn, a small bottle of Amul Kool Kesar Badam for our little Aleya and a can of cold coffee for himself, they both entered the hall. The chairs were smaller than usual, but Rishabh fit in.
He had already messaged his friend that they would be back in 3 hours, so he had nothing to worry about. Aleya loved the movie, her favourite being Sven but the emotional scenes made Rishabh cry. When they got out, the bundle of cuteness in his arms wore a frown on her face. "Uncle Rishu?" Rishabh did not like the tone of her voice. It was overprotective, the one he had often heard in his best friend's voice millions of times. "Haan beta?" "Aap sad?" He smiled at her and softly shook his head. "You cried while watching the mo-movie. Did uncle not like it?" "No, no I liked it very much. What about my barbie?"
Aleya gushed about how much she adored the Disney's adaptation. She were nearly out of the mall, heading back to the hotel in Rishabh's car when Aleya said, "Rishu uncle, it's fine to cry . Strong people also cry, you know. Papa is so strong like spiderman, still he cries sometimes."
The maturity Aleya had amazed Rishabh, well who was he kidding. She was his best friend's daughter. The drive back home was peaceful. Rishabh drove slow and carefully while Aleya asked multitudes of questions about the things she saw on the streets.
"What is that animal?" "It's a mule."
"Look, Uncle, the puppy is so cute!"
"Wow, the clouds look like a cauliflower, don't they?"
Rishabh couldn't have dreamt of having a day spent better than this.
When the chatter from the passenger seat died off, he looked to the side, only to be assaulted by the cute, very to the power Infinite times cute image of a tiny teeny bubble of happiness sleeping while cuddling a ginormous Teddy bear, more than three times her size. He parked the car to the side of the road and took a multitude of pictures to capture the peaceful moment. She was drooling a bit on the Teddy, but Rishabh was sure his bestie wouldn't mind cleaning it up when he showed him these adorable pictures.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
This was yer another short chapter. I saw so many adorable babies in the last few days, I just had to write this. BTW, how do you want Aleya to be Ishan's kid - by birth or adopted? Let me know in the comments. I love this.
Good bye and thanks for showing so much love to my story. See you later, tonight or tomorrow.
I had a doubt. Agar so kar uthe, to subah Ke 4 baje bolte hain, par agar us time sone jai, to kya raat Ke 4 bake bolenge? I am not very good at Hindi.
