winning a battle, losing the war.
season one, episode three.

"George's room is bigger than mine!" Izzie's screams invaded the house and could clearly be heard from the bathroom, where Rikki was hiding to avoid the blonde's complaints. It was 4:40 am, who complained about room's dimension at 4:40 am? "I have more clothes- I should have the bigger room."

"I got here first," George replied, determinated not to exchange rooms. "Meredith should decide." Izzie huffed.

Not that, Rikki thought, Meredith could care less wether Izzie or George had the biggest room. "Try to ask Rikki if she wants to exchange room with you, it's not the biggest one but it's bigger than yours."

"Hey! Not fair!" Rikki yelled back, taking sips from her coffee she previously had taken in the bathroom with her. Izzie'd been complaining for all the previous day, and now she was doing it during night, too. When they were supposed to either sleep or, in that case, get ready for work.

"My room is two inches bigger than yours!"

"You have a bigger closet!"

They kept yelling for another minute as they walked downstairs, probably following Meredith everywhere she went. Rikki didn't care, she just wanted to finish her coffee, get ready to go to work and hopefully to scrub in some surgeries. So, she started ignoring them and whathever they were yelling about.

Suddenly, the bathroom's door got opened, and Meredith quickly got in, slamming the door to George's face. Rikki stared at her up and down, then looked down at her coffee, and decided that Meredith needed it more.

"Meredith? Rikki's in there? Do you want some privacy?" George asked, knocking at the door.

"Rough night?" Rikki muttered as she gave the blonde her coffee.

"You have no idea."

"What's the Dead Baby Bar?" Rikki asked as she got ready to enter in the E.R with her fellow interns. She hadn't grown up in Seattle, so she didn't know what the other interns were talking about.

"Every year, they hold this underground bike race," George explained. He gave every interns their yellow vest, which signed that whoever wore it was working in the E.R.

"Don't you wonder why someone would name a bar something so disgusting?" Asked Izzie, who shooked her head in disgust.

"Keep your panties on, Nancy Drew!" Replied Cristina, making Izzie blow up. Rikki laughed and grabbed one of the yellow gowns that were organised on a small table for them to wear them.

"The race is completely illegal and-"

"Crazy," Meredith interrupted George, talking aloud about what she thought about the race. "Bike messengers racing against traffic, trying to beat each other for free shots of tequila."
