"Just to be clear: you're telling me that you didn't answer my calls just because you knew I would be angry at you for all the Derek's thing?" Rikki asked, putting all efforts to stay calm as she talked with her friend on the phone.
"Well... yes," murmured Addison, ready to Rikki yelling at her. "Don't be mad, please," she still tried, not fully sure why she was even doing it.
"You have to be fucking kidding!" snapped Rikki.
"Language."
"Oh, shut up."
Addison sighed, understanding for the first time that she was really mad at her. "Rikki, I..."
"You suggested me to work at Seattle Grace. You told me it was a cute, comforting place and now I-" Rikki took a deep breath, walking to the fridge to look if there was anyhing in there. But, obviously, her roommates ate it all, as always. "You made me choose it because Derek work there. You want me to spy him for you, right?"
Addison laughed, even though she didn't really want to do it. Rikki blinked once, twice, three times, realizing only after a while that Addison couldn't see her. "What you laughing at?"
"Nothing, it's just... I suggested you like, what, four hospitals?" She said, crossing her arms over her chest in a 'I technically didn't force you' pose.
"Don't look at me like that," growled Rikki.
"We can't even see eachother! How am I supposed to look at you?"
"Shut up, I just know you'd be staring at me with the'Addison's look'!" she exclaimed, while hurrying herself to go out the apartment, not wanting to be late for work.
"Just- just hear me out, okay?" Addison sighed, doing all she could to try adjust whathever situation she created. "I suggested you to go work at Seattle Grace because I think it's a beautiful hospital."
"Yes, but-"
"But I knew Derek would be there too, yes," Addison clarified, already knowing what Rikki was gonna say.
"Yes, but-"
"And I thought he could take care of you, as I can do it myself 'cause of the distance-"
"I can take care of myself, thank you," snapped Rikki, still mad.
"I know pretty well you can, but I know you won't if no one remind you to do so, too." Addison knew it, Derek knew it, Rikki herself knew it. But, still, she didn't want to give her the satisfaction of being right.
