enough is enough
season two, episode two✵
They got a big hangover.
The only thing Rikki didn't like about drinking was that, the morning after getting drunk, she couldn't even stay seated due to the strong headache that would spawn as soon as she woke up.
That time, perhaps, it was even worse. She hadn't slept at all. Meredith, Cristina and her had gone home and closed themselves inside the bathroom, talking and criticizing men as well as throwing up and trying to sober up.
Both Meredith and Rikki were lying on the floor, ignoring every rational thought that told them it was full of germs, dust, and whatever a bathroom’s floor could be dirty of.
Cristina, instead, was seated inside the bath, closing its door whenever one of her friends threw up, not wanting to see it.
“It's not us. It's them.” Said Meredith, staring at the ceiling. “Them and their stupid boy… penises. They didn't tell me they had a wife. They gave absolutely no warning that they were going to break up with you.”
Rikki turned her head to Meredith, curious to what she would say about Alex, in her case. When, the night before she told them about her feelings for the guy, they had asked her repeatedly if she wasn't confusing things, in disbelief about her sudden revelation.
“And they…” Meredith murmured, staring at her friend to find something to say. Even Cristina thought about it, but couldn't come up with anything. “They do nothing to you, yet, apparently. You're lucky.”
Then, suddenly, Cristina opened the door and turned to them. “It's not that Burke broke up with me. It's how he broke up with me, like it was business. Like it was a business transaction. Like he's the boss of me?”
Meredith and Rikki shared a look before turning again to Cristina. “We'll, he's the boss of you,” the brunette remarked, getting seated so she could drink some of the water she previously made Izzie bring her.
“And what's worse is that I care.”
Suddenly, Meredith got up, fast. “I'm gonna throw up again.” She announced, moving towards the toilet. At that affirmation Cristina closed the bath’s door right as Rikki closed her eyes.
“...No. Wait. False alarm.”
Rikki opened her eyes, and Cristina did the same with the bath's door. “The problem is estrogen.” She affirmed while doing so, staring at the two women on the floor.
