A/n: What if instead of Bella giving birth to their daughter Renesmee, she died giving birth to a different daughter, Y/n Sage Cullen. Edward tried to save Bella, but he was too late, leaving him as a single father of a human-vampire. However, Carlisle never quite approved of Y/n, due to the fact that she grew up without a mother and that she still doesn't know how to control being a vampire even though she's 13. However Edward always sticks up for her when they have a fight about it. Y/n has Bella's redish brown hair and Edward's topaz eyes.

Y/n's POV
As I was walking downstairs I heard yelling......again. Great what'd I do this time to upset Carlisle.
"Edward, Y/n needs to either go to a therapists or a boarding school," I heard him say.
"Y/n is my daughter and I get to choose what's best for her," Dad says.
"Not only is she a mistake, she can barely control being a vampire, she's the reason why Bella's dead, and she's mentally unstable."
I ran back upstairs to my room and slammed my door. I curled up into a ball, pulled the sheets over my head, and started crying.
Edward's POV 15 minutes before
I walked downstairs after a rough night again. Since Y/n is a human/vampire hybrid she still needs sleep, but that's a problem with her past. She gets nightmares every night of memories from when she was kidnapped and tortured by hunters. I've done everything I can to help, but nothing works.
"Rough night," Carlisle says.
"Don't even start," I replied.
"I was just asking a question," he said in defense.
"We both know what you were going to say, and also, she's not a mistake," I said.
"1st off, stop reading my mind, and 2nd off Bella would still be alive right now if she hadn't been born," he said.
"Bella's dead because I didn't get to her in time!" I replied trying to be quiet since y/n and the others were still asleep.
"You wouldn't have had to save her if...."
"Just stop, please." I said.
"Fine. I did find a good boarding school," he said changing the topic.
"I'm not sending her to boarding school, I want her to be as close as possible just in case," I said.
Time skip after Y/n run's upstairs brought to you by everything sparkling.
I was about to reply when I heard someone running upstairs and a door slam. I sighed knowing that it was Y/n.
"Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to go comfort my daughter," I said as I walked out of the room.
Y/n's POV
After a minute or so, I heard someone knock on my door then enter.
"Y/n? Come on, don't listen to what he says," dad says as he sits on the edge of my bed.
I just roll up even more.
"Okay, how about we go get ice cream." he asked.
I just grumble.
"Okay, I can play the quiet game. However, I think that the loser should be tickled," he said as he started tickling me.
I rolled over laughing trying to get him off of me.
"Okay, okay, you win," I said out of breath.
"I always win," he said.
"Not always," I replied as I laid my head on his chest.
"Whatever you say. Are you feeling better," he asked.
"Yeah, but I did hear something about ice cream," I said with a smile.
