Y/n's POV
I groaned as I got up out of bed then walked downstairs.
"Hey dad." I said as I walked into the room.
"Hey honey. How are you?" he replied hugging me.
"Good, I'm just tired." I yawned.
"Why are you up so early then? You don't have school for another 4 hours, it's 3 am."
"My brain chose to wake me up. Why are you up?" I said lying and trying to change the subject.
"Just doing some work." He replied.
"Okay?" I said awkwardly.
Dad stared at me skeptically before talking again.
"Okay, why are you really up?" he asked.
"I just couldn't sleep." I said lying.
"You say that every time you wake up early."
"Because it's true."
"Please tell me."
"Fine....I'm just worried about school."
"Why, you'll do great."
"But kids are going to make fun of me."
"Who cares if kids make fun of you, they're just jealous that you're smarter than them and that you're different, in a good way."
"You're saying that because it's in the dad code of conduct."
"No, I'm saying it because it's true." he said messing up my hair, "Now how about we go back to bed?"
