36. Flashback

After finding out that Robert was using her daughter as a pawn to build his empire. Edna decided to call the people that she abandoned those many years ago for help, her family.

After she feel in love with Robert and he gave her an ultimatum to chose either him or them,she hadn't spoken to them since.

"I just hope he can put his feelings aside and see the importance of this call." She thought to herself as she dialed the number of the man that she once called her brother.

"Hola, quién eres?" The man said on the phone calmly.

"Hola Fernando,soy yo Edna."  She said nervously waiting for a response from the other end.

"Así que finalmente recobraste el sentido." He laughed making her regret her decision to call him.

"Yes,yes I did. I know that it's too late to ask for forgiveness for myself but I need your help, I need you to help my daughter." She sighed.

"Cahdejah,haven't seen her since she was a little girl. I just hope that you didn't ruin her life like you did yours." Fernando said bitterly on the other end of the phone.

"That's why I called,he's going to ruin her life just as he did mine, I need you to take her and when the time is right I'll come and get her." She stated pleading with the man on the other end.

Sighing hesitantly, Fernando thought to himself of all the trouble that he would be in if he decides to help his former sister. He had no hate for her or malice towards her,but she abandoned her family for a selfish man who thought about no one but himself and his materialistic possessions.

No matter how much he disliked what she did he could not leave her in distress, he didn't have it in him.

"Fernando, are you going to help her or not?" Edna questioned as she got impatient with his silence.

"Yes Edna I will help your daughter Cahdejah come home to Mexico where she belongs. He responded calmy.

"But with one condition, you will never see her again. No visits,no phone calls,no letter nothing because you don't deserve her. You had a child with a Jamaican don and didn't think that it could affect her life negatively and for that, this is your punishment." He coldly stated on the phone.

After hearing that news Edna didn't know what to say. She knew that Cahdejah would be safe in Mexico with her old family, but the fact that she would never see her again didn't sit well with her.

But she knew deep down in her heart that if she didn't do this Cahdejahs life would be hell when she grew up, this was the only way.

"I'm willing to live with that." Edna voiced lowly as she subdued her emotions.

"I have a shipment coming to Jamaica in two days, when it arrives I'll send you the location and time,don't be late." Fernando said sternly over the phone.
