Chapter 39 - Meeting The Ancestor

Aurora's POV

This morning I woke up with the smell of delicious freshly baked bread and flowers. I'm not sure what happened because last night there were no flowers when I go to bed. But this morning, my bed was surrounded by varieties of flowers that some I have never seen before.

Since the examination are completed, I decided to spend my night at Blanca's penthouse. When I arrived last night, she was not home. She left me a message that says she will be home late. I didn't think much of it because she's a busy woman. And the burden she have bare are huge.

I got up from the bed and went downstairs just to see both Blanca and Svetlana at the kitchen preparing breakfast. I was surprised because I never thought they be able to pull this through.

I mean, Blanca was born with gold spoon in her mouth while Svetlana only knows how to kill people. So cooking and baking is never in the list of things I thought they be able to pull off.

"Hmmmm, smell delicious."

Blanca turned around with a smile on her face.

"Good morning. Breakfast will be ready soon. Normally the maids would be doing this but I gave them all a day off."

I smiled back before Blanca gone back to what she was doing. That's when I realised Svetlana seems to be doing something weird by the sink.

"What are you doing?"

I asked before covering my mouth when I saw the sink is filled with bloody knives.

"Cleaning my tools. What? Did you really think Blanca would let me cook? I almost burn the kitchen down before. I was told I shouldn't be at the kitchen but this is an exception- I need the sink."

Blanca sighed before placing an empty pot on the sink.

"While you're using the sink, clean the pots as well."

I decided to prepare the tables while Blanca went to check on something at the oven.

"It's almost done. Thank you for setting the table. My supposedly helper didn't even bother to help me."

Blanca was referring to Svetlana who is in charge of cleaning the utensils.

"Hey, I'm helping by standing here, giving you the support you need to cook our breakfast. Anyway, congratulations for being the new owner of Casino City. I knew you have what it takes to do it."

I watched as Svetlana walk towards Blanca before giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"You're awfully kind for someone who doesn't show her affection. What do you want from me?"

Blanca was sceptical and to be honest so am I. 

"There's a person I need to find in Casino City. She used to be a close friend of mine but she was sold and became a prostitute. And since my lovely partner is the owner, you could release those who wish to quit."

Blanca raised an eyebrow.

"Is that so? And why are you so eager to help this woman? Can you tell me more about this woman. I'm sure Aurora is curious as well."

Blanca asked while placing food on the table. I sat on the dining table and wait for Svetlana to explain herself.

"This woman and I were both in the same orphanage. It was right before the Volin took me in. The woman was kind and she acts like our big sister. The people who run the orphanage are not good people. That's why when I was old enough, I hunted them down."

Wait- what does she meant by hunted them down?! Blanca took a seat at the dining table while Svetlana cleans her hands with a piece of cloth from the island.

"After years of working as a prostitite, do you think she wants to leave?"

Svetlana nodded. She was confident that this person wish to leave. Blanca sighed before she agreed to help Svetlana is saving her friend.

"That's it? Do I need to do anything?"

Blanca smiled.

"Of course. You'll be escorting Aurora and my mother today. There's no time to waste. You need to see what is left of the Larove family today. I'm sorry and I understand why you think you're not ready but we don't have much time. Our enemies are doing their best to forbidding you from taking over the family as the heir. We need to be vigilant. Remember that your parents are dead because of these greedy people."

Blanca's words are echoing in my mind. But I'm scared. I- I don't want to die and get those around me hurt. But I know- sooner or later I have to face the music.

"Alright."

I was trying to enjoy my meal but my mind is elsewhere. Will everything be okay?

A few hours later,

Svetlana opened the car door for me and Diana before we stood before the largest mansion I have ever seen in my life. The mansion was built on top of a cliff so we could see beautiful scenery of the city and also the mountainous view that looks amazing in winter.

"Your parents built a huge fountain that has the statue of each heir/heiress of the Larove family. The legacy each of the former head had left are now yours to have.  Even though some of it are still under the control of the enemy, it will be yours soon."

I stop counting on how many times I'm shocked by the things I've seen in this property. How big is the fountain?! Is it necessary to build such grand cascade like so?

"The caretaker did a great job. Follow me, girls." 

Diana said as she made her way to the front entrance. Svetlana and I followed Diana from behind while admiring the decor. The moment we went inside the mansion, my mouth dropped to the floor.

The Vladimir's mansion are gorgeous but this place- it looks like a work of art that was left by famous artisan. At first glance we wouldn't know that it's supposed to be a house because it was designed to look like a fucking museum.

"Mistress Diana. I was informed that you would be visiting today."

This woman must be the caretaker.

"As promised, I have brought the owner of this mansion to its rightful place."

The caretaker smiled before bowing her head to me.

"The young miss reminded me of her mother. She is truly the heir to the Larove wealth. I'm sure with her as the head. The Larove will no longer be look down upon."

I stopped dead in my track when I saw a portrait of three woman on the wall. One of the ladies looks exactly like me.

"Ah, you've found the portrait of the three legendary Larove. The woman standing behind the two ladies is Carmen. The person on the left is Catherine  and the person of the right of Christina Larove. You were born from Christina's bloodline."

Christina- I never knew I look like my ancestors. But-

"Whoa, that Christina has such nice rack."

Svetlana said before turning her attention to me. That was a look of disappointment!

"Don't worry, honey. I still love you."

Those words didn't made me feel better!

"Just shut up!"

Svetlana chuckled before giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"Sorry, babe."
