Leah Parker

I turn the engine off as I hook the keys onto my belt and walk out. I shut the door and I see 2 people walking towards me from a group of racers.

A boy with pale, blonde hair and olive green eyes smiles and winks playfully at me, the girl who is much shorter than the guy nudges him as her ebony hair falls over her shoulders. She pulls me into a hug and I stiffen, before wrapping my arms around her shoulders.

She pulls away, "Hey, you're.. Leah Parker?" I nod at her question, smiling, "I'm Lilly, nice to meet you."

I glance to the pale blonde standing beside her, "I assume you're the flirty guy called Max." I grin, and he laughs and nods.

"I'm not flirty, I just have a.. Natural charm." He grins, shrugging as he crosses his arms over his chest.

I tilt my head and I laugh, "Whatever floats your boat, Max."

When I arrived at the group, I noticed 3 people; 2 girls and 2 boys. The girl in the middle gives me a warm smile, as she shakes my clammy hand, "Mya Callaway. Nice to meet you, Leah."

The other boy who stands next to Mya nods at me, giving a weak smile, "Myles."

I give her a reassuring nod and send the smile back as I glance towards the other 2 standing beside Mya.

No smile, just a flicker of warmth in their eyes but an expressionless face. The boy, taller than all the others, hazelnut hair and luring green eyes tilts his head and speaks, "Nathan Cole, best on the track."

I press my lips together in a firm line, narrowing my eyes slightly as I contemplate what he said. I take a breath, nodding as the final girl speaks. She doesn't smile either. "Cora Cole."

Right, siblings. I assume their personas are just copy and pasted just like their looks are.

After ages of mingling with the others, we picked 3 racers even though on the track there are 4 spaces.

Max, Nathan and I.

Everyone has a luxurious ride but never have I expected someone to have a Ferrari Huracan.

The car was my first choice, but I ended up buying a McLaren.

Initially, I thought the Huracan belonged to Max. Nice guy, nice car. Nope. It belongs to Nathan. The worst of them all.

I shouldn't jump to conclusions like that. I shouldn't be so mentally.. Dismissive towards him but I can already tell that Nathan and I won't get along. I doubt the word 'friend' is even in his mental dictionary.

I slip into my car, strapping my gloves on to prevent any burns as I switch my engine on and it roars with excitement. I hear the revs of the other engines and I buckle my belt as I look at Lilly with the chequered flag. The flag raises and she drops as she yells, 'GO!'
