AN: Hahahaheheheh I'm so sorry for being gone for idk 2 weeks??? Well here's a Ruby x Sapphire so maybe you can forgive me. *hides behind door so you don't kill me* P.S. It's another AU.

Ruby's POV:

As I lay on my bed staring at me ceiling, I think about the week.I can't believe I blew up in Amethyst's face like that. She's my best friend, I don't know what got into me. I swear I didn't mean to get mad at her but I've just been so strung out lately. What with the hockey tournament in a month and my parents fighting all the time. I bet they don't even know I exist anymore. They can't expect me to just deal with it and be okay. But..that doesn't give me an excuse to be a complete ass to my friends. I should apologize to Amethyst but I don't know if she'd speak to me. I really messed up this time. I grab my phone from my nightstand and scroll to Amethyst's contact. I touch her icon and press call. It buzzes 7 times and I just about lose hope that we'll ever be friends again. I mean, she hasn't answered my texts in a whole day. I'm very paranoid.

"What do you want?" Amethyst's annoyed voice says through the speaker.

"I...I wanted to apologize...Amethyst I'm so sorry I never should have said what I said or did what I did. I'm so so sorry..." I blurt out. There's silence and then a heavy sigh from her.

"Rubes...it's okay, I forgive you," I breathe a sigh of relief at her words, "I know you're super stressed, I get it. Remember when I ate your entire lunch in sophomore year because I was mad?" We both laugh at this and I know we're back to normal, "Why don't you head to the rink to blow off some steam? I'm on my way out so I can just let you in."

"Seriously? I'd love that. I'll be there in 20," I tell her. We end the call and I get my stuff together and head out the door. Luckily my parents started ignoring me after I got my license so I have a car of my own. I jump in, eager to get some extra practice in. I drive the 10 minutes to the school's ice rink. It's technically the town's rink but the school has it reserved for the season. I park my car in the lot with ease, seeing as it's a Sunday and no one is here. I feel my phone buzz as I step out of my car and take it out of my pocket.

Sorry, had to go home, left the door open -Amethyst

No prob, thanks! -You

After I press send I push my phone back into my pocket and head towards the door of the rink. I walk through the door and feel the cool air hit me immediately. This, this is my real home. This is what has kept me sane through highschool and hopefully I can get an athletics scholarship from it. Maybe I'll get scouted at the game, I think as I walk through the corridor to the ice. What was that sound? I can hear the familiar scratch of skates on ice and wonder if Amethyst didn't leave after all. Whatever, it'd be fun to square off with her. As the flat, white ice of the rink gets into sight I can see that it's definitely not Amethyst. Its some girl I've never seen here before. She's obviously an ice skater judging by the way she expertly glides across the ice and spins in the air. Not to mention her clothes. She's wearing thick leggings and a close-fitted sweater to keep from the cold. Over the leggings she's wearing a small, flowy blue skirt. Actually, all of it's blue. Wow, she must really like blue. Not that I'm judging, I'm wearing dark red sweats and my red hockey jersey over a sweater. I approach the ice and sit down on one of the benches to put on my skates. I hope she didn't see me yet, I wouldn't want to distract her. She's really good. Like, great. If I had an ounce of grace I would probably be a figure skater but I love hockey so it works out. I finish putting on my skates and stumble to the ledge surrounding the ice and lean on it. I watch her for a little while and wonder how she can skate so well with her bangs practically over her eyes, the rest of it is in a bun. She starts to slow down and is now almost lazily gliding across the ice.

"Can I join you?" I say from behind the low wall. She stumbles a bit, startled, and nearly falls but catches herself. She blushes and then comes toward me to lean against the wall a few feet away from me.

"Uh yeah, I guess," she brushes her bangs away from her eyes and they are also blue. A beautiful deep blue. I smile and move around the wall onto the ice. I do a circle before I come back and stand near her.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"I'm Sapphire, you?"

"Ruby."

"Cool. Wait, are you on the hockey team?" she asks.

"Yeah. What about you, do you skate for the school's team?"

"Oh uh, no. I prefer to be able to work on my own."

"Oh. You still use the school's facilities though?" I ask, a bit confused.

"Yeah... I don't when someone's here though," Does that mean I should leave?

"Oh, I-I can leave if you want."

"Oh! No, I didn't mean it like that I just meant um...sorry..." she looks down at her feet and blushes.

"Don't worry about it," I say, touching her shoulder. She looks at me,"Wanna skate with me?" she smiles and nods. I grab her hand and we skate out to the middle. We start just gliding alongside each other. Somehow I already feel comfortable with this girl. It's like we're soulmates or something. But that's a ridiculous concept...mostly ridiculous. Especially since someone like her probably isn't into girls. She's probably straight and I shouldn't let myself fall for another straight girl because they may look like they're flirting but then you make a move and-

"Ruby?!" I hear Sapphire saying to me. I trip and slide awkwardly across the ice until I find my footing again. I look back at her and blush because it looks like she's holding back a laugh.

"Are you okay?" she says smiling as she comes towards me.

"Heh uh yeah, fine. I'm fine just got distracted," I say looking anywhere but her.

"You want to keep skating?" she asks. I look at her and she actually looks like she wants to.

"Yeah, definitely."

We skate for about another hour, sometimes talking and sometimes in complete silence other than the scratch of metal on ice. We decide to call it a day as it's nearing 7pm and Sapphire should get home before dark. We collect all our things and get ready to leave together.

"This was really fun," she says as we are walking down the corridor to the exit.

"Yeah. Maybe we can do it again sometime?" I ask, smiling and she smiles back.

"I'd love that."

We continue to walk towards the exit and get there soon, without saying anything more. I turn to her and she looks at me, smiling a bit.

"Do you want my number so we can skate together again?" she asks.

"Oh yeah, please," I say with a smile. She pulls out a pen and some scratch paper and scrawls her number on it. She hands it to me and out fingers brush.

"Thanks," I say. We stand there awkwardly for a while after I had stuffed her number in my pocket.

"I should head home," Sapphire says, finally breaking the silence.

"Right. I'll walk you to your car," I say. She and I walk to her car which is red not blue like I was expecting. She turns to me before she gets in.

"I really hope to see you again," she says.

"Me too. I'll text you," I say, smiling and she smiles too. We stand there awkwardly once again with me looking at her, her looking at me then the ground.

"Well, I guess I'll see you," she says. I nod and begin to walk away to my car but turn around quickly. Oh God this is a bad idea. Like, yelling at Amethyst bad.

"Hey Sapphire! Wait!" I say as she gets in her car. She turns to me with a confused look but gets out of her car anyway.

"Yeah, Ruby?" she says as I get nearer. I grab her face gently and kiss her. Her shock is evident but she soon reciprocates. My hands move to her shoulders as we continue to kiss. I pull back and she smiles, so do I.

"So," I say, "Wanna go out sometime?"

AN: Was that bad? Idk you tell me. Anyway, I will try to write more I promise. Also if it's not obvious Sapphire says yes. Byye
