young!Pearl x young!Amethyst

AN: This is a story requested by BluebucksJob. Thank you for requesting! This was pretty fun, seeing as this is a area I hadn't tried yet(y'know the young gems).

Pearl's POV:

"Rose this place is...it's awful!" I exclaimed as I looked up at Rose.

"Pearl. It's just damaged. Home World tried to ruin this, but we can try to fix it," she said as she smiled at me. I smiled back, even with the anger and confusion, Rose makes me smile, "Why don't you go walk around, see if you find anything interesting."

I nod and run off in front of us to see if there's anything dangerous ahead. I slow down as I approach one of the horrible injectors the others installed into the Earth.

"How could they do this?" I whisper as I brush my hand across the cold metal. I just don't understand how they could want to destroy one planet to improve another. It's crazy! I continue walking through the long canyon with the gem-shaped holes in the sides. I wonder if there are still gems here. I doubt it. Home World either destroyed or took all of them back, as far as I know. I hear what sounds like someone running to my right. Over by the holes? I walk towards one of the holes that are closest to the ground. I peek in and as I expected, there's nothing inside. I hear a scuffing again and look around me. Garnet and Rose are across the canyon, it can't be them. I go back to inspecting the holes.

"Who are you?" I hear an unfamiliar voice say. I spin around and a significantly smaller gem is looking at me with her arms crossed.

"Wh-What!? A gem?" I say, confused.

"Yeah, I'm a gem what about it? Who are you?" she says with more determination.

"I-I'm Pearl. Who are you?" I ask her.

"Amethyst," she says.

"Were you...made here?" I ask the purple gem.

"I guess..."

"What do you mean?" I press.

"I mean, I think I was. Everything was how you see it when I popped out of that hole," she said pointing to the hole I was standing in front of.

"Popped out?"

"Yeah. I was in there for...awhile and then, poof! Right out. Been wandering around here ever since."

"Do you know how you were made? Where we are?" I asked her.

"I know we're on Earth. I could hear while I was in there," she said, as if it was obvious.

"You know you're not...natural right?" I said, and she looked hurt briefly which turned to anger..

"What's that s'posed to mean?!" she yelled.

"Pearl, what's going on?" Rose appeared behind Amethyst.

"I found a gem! She was made here," I tell Rose.

"Oh! Really? What's your name?" Rose asked Amethyst.

"My name is Amethyst."

"Would you like to come back to our home with us?" Rose asked Amethyst kindly.

After a lot of convincing, we got Amethyst to come back to the temple on a warp with us. After we arrived back Rose took Amethyst into her room to introduce her to our cause. An hour later she came back into the common room with Amethyst in tow.

"Garnet, Pearl we have a new member. Amethyst would like to help us in our cause and stay here, with us," Rose explained.

"But-But where will she stay? We don't have another room for her," I asked.

"I was hoping that you could house her until I set up a room for her. You are okay with that, right?" she asked, smiling at me.

"Of course! It shouldn't be an issue, right Amethyst?" I said.

"Yeah, no problem at all," Amethyst muttered.

"So my room is this one," I said leading Amethyst into my room, "Do you sleep?"

"Of course I do, don't you?" she asked.

"Well, no. Gems don't actually need sleep."

"Yeah but it's nice. I like to sleep," Amethyst said, yawning.

"I like to find a better use of my time," I said, "No offense."

"None taken," she said. She started to explore my room a bit looking and touching the many artifacts I have.

I explained the gem tech that was used in many of the objects and why they were created. She's still hesitant with me, most likely due to our talk at the kindergarten. We began to talk more and more but I could see Amethyst growing tired.

"Do you want to sleep?" I asked her after some time.

"Yeah..." she said, tiredly.

"Do you need a bed?" I asked.

"I didn't have a bed in the Kindergarten."

"Good point."

She told me goodnight and then proceeded to practically flop onto the floor and fall asleep. She's actually cute when she's asleep. She's cute in general. Why am I thinking like this? I've just met this gem. I decide to lie down next to her, maybe I can try to sleep. I lie down on my back and wonder what it's like to sleep. Humans sleep. I bet Rose sleeps, what with her fascination with humans. I give up and turn onto my side and look at Amethyst. I brush a white strand out of her face. Can she feel that if she's asleep? I run my hand down her cheek to see if she reacts to it. She doesn't even flinch. I run my fingertips over her lips and she still doesn't wake or move. Is that what sleeping does? You just don't feel things? I move closer to her slowly and put my face near her's. Can she tell I'm this close? I hover over her lips and place a small kiss. Still nothing...wow. Maybe I should try sleeping.
