𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐃, the sign had drawn two names, from the same clan, hinata and neji hyūga, while hinta was from the main house, the same cannot be said for neji who is apart of the branch house.
"this isn't going to end well.." auyong mutter, getting a few glancing from the jōnins within the room, the two competitors entered the arena, "what are you taking about, auyong?" sakura questions.
"they are members of the leafs oldest and greatest blood line..the house of the hyūga clan..but they aren't siblings" kakashi clarified, naruto and sakura turns to their sensei.
"the what are they?" the pinkette then asks, "putting it simple, they're cousins" auyong says.
"true..but many things have happened between houses over the years..and..right now they do not get along together very well." lee admitted
"so they hate each other then.." sakura concludes, "now begin the match!" hayate announces, everyone attention turns to the arena.
"before we begin the fight..." neji spoke, staring at hinata, "i'd like to say something hinata—sama."
"you don't make a good shinobi...forfeit now, you are too kind..you wish for harmony and avoid conflict...you agree with others, never resisting" he told hinata, who in exchange stared glumly at the floor.
"and you have no confidence in yourself." neji continues, "i always feel your sense of inferiority that's why..i thought it would be best for you to remain a genin."
"but the chunin exam can only be taken as a team of three, you couldn't turn down your teammates request and unwillingly entered, this is reality—am i wrong?"
"n-no.. you're wrong! i-i'm doing this to prove that i can change.." hinata admitted, nervously.
"hinata—sama...as i thought, you are a spoiled brat of the main house..people cannot change themselves." neji told hinata which made auyong frown.
"boring!" auyong shouts, gaining a few stares, "we get it, you have family issues, this isn't therapy!"
"and stop taking it out on hinata, it's not her fault she was born in the main branch!"
hayate coughs "you may begin when ready."
"byakugan!" hinata called out, veins appearing around her eyes. neji replicated the exact same movements, before the both of them lunged at each other.
the two of them continuously attempted to strike each other's chakra points, though it seemed futile as each attack was repeatedly dodged, one after the other.
"you know you didn't have to say that" kakashi spoke turning to auyong who scoffs.
"i had to, hinata might not be as strong as neji, but she has determination and she's going to prove her cousin wrong...people can change."
