"Rayla? Rayla?" Callum and Terry called into the vast forest. Callum grew more and more worried about her. He ran his hand through hi hair in stress. That's when a gleaming piece of jewelry caught Terry's eye. He stopped dead in his tracks. "No. Way. I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO ASK!" he shouted, shaking Callum by the shoulder. Callum chuckled and said, "Well, I did. Then, she told me she wanted to ask a question. But I beat her to it." Terry gasped, hands coming up to meet his cheeks.
Rayla searched for Callum through the thick trees. She heard a distant and faint call, but it was unmistakable. Her name being called by his voice. And somebody else's voice. She didn't recognize that one. Rayla listened closely and detected an Australian accent. An earthblood elf? Callum doesn't know any... Oh. Yeah, he does. That one guy. Come to think of it, I don't know his name. She shook herself away from this topic and dashed toward the sound. It became louder and louder as she approached.
A snapping sound diverted Callum's attention. A twig had been broken not far from them. He stopped Terry with his hand. "What?" "Did you hear that?" "No. What?" Callum looked around before telling him about the twig. "That poor twig- I mean, uhhh...." Callum chuckled. This elf was funny. His eyes darted this way and that. Finally, he noticed gleaming white hair in the trees. "Rayla?"
Rayla knew Callum had seen her. "Rayla?" he asked. She stalked closer to him. He sighed. A sigh of relief and exhaustion all at the same time. She exited the cover of the trees. "I'm gonna go..." Terry said, pointing in the direction he was about to walk off in. As he walked, he kept his gaze fixed on the two with a broad smile. He gave them two thumbs-ups before disappearing into the trees.
"I'm sorry," Rayla mumbled. "I went on a walk and lost track of time, I guess." Callum nodded. "You scared me. Don't do that. First, the Storm Spire, then the Nexus, now this? I mean, sure. This wasn't one of those far too frequent near death experiences, but, Rayla..." He walked toward her. "I don't want to lose you. Like I lost my mom. Like I lost my step-dad. Like we almost lost Ez." He placed a trembling hand on her cheek and turned her head to look at him. "I love you." She smiled and responded, "I love you too."

Fanfiction"What if Rayla never left?" Yup. This story answers that question! Or, at least, it tries. I have been contemplating for FAR too long. "Hmm.. I want to make this book." But I never did. So now, I'm going to.
