Ezran's eyes fluttered open. "Ugh... Mornings." He rolled over and saw the girl laying down next to her large wolf friend on the floor. He smiled as he just lay there. She stirred and he rolled over, face a deep scarlet red. Ellis had taken the floor next to his bed for the next few nights. She didn't have anywhere else, so Ezran suggested she could sleep in his room. He had offered to sleep on the floor, and she could sleep on his bed, but she refused to make him sleep on the hard stone floor.

Ezran sat up and moved the blankets off his legs. "Oh, Bait. How am I gonna deal with this? I mean, we're, like, eleven! But she... look at her. How? How does she do that? Or is it natural?" Bait grunted in response. Bait, of course, was a glow toad. He didn't quite see the appeal. For Ellis or Ava. Ava was a little... energetic for him. Hey, Bait, how ya doin'? Wanna run around for no reason at all? Like, Oh my glow, LEAVE ME ALONE OR I'LL TAKE YOUR JELLY TARTS. Ezran chuckled. "Bait, Ava's not that bad." Bait looked at the young king skeptically. Whatever you say.

Ellis began to stir. She opened her beautiful brown eyes and looked around. "Hmm? What?" She blinked the crusted sleep from her eyes. Ez chuckled. "Good morning!" he called. Ellis smiled a warm, bright smile. "Morning," she yawned. Ezran struggled to contain the butterflies in his stomach around her. The archangel lunaris in his stomach.

Ellis stood and dusted off her clothes. Then she went into the changing room and Ez was left with his thoughts. I wonder what Zym's up to. He tried to look through the young dragon's eyes.

'Hey, Zym!' The dragon prince looked around for his friend, who wasn't actually there. 'Ezran?' The young king observed his strange surroundings. 'Yeah. Are you in the Arcus Vault?' Zym looked around. 'I think so... where are you?' 'In my room, waiting for Ellis.' 'Wait, Ellis? Like, Ellis, Ellis?' Ezran chuckled. 'What other Ellis do I know?' Zym released a happy chirp. Suddenly, a growl could be heard above them. Zubeia poked her head down the staircase. "Ah-hah! Found you!" she growled playfully. Zym squealed and ran toward the queen.

Ellis waved her gloved hand in front of Ezran's face. "Hmm? What? Yeah?" "What are you doing?" she asked, a small smile on her face. "Oh! So, you remember how Lujanne said I have a 'special connection to Zym', or something?" Ellis nodded. "Well, she wasn't wrong. When he wants me to, I can see through Zym's eyes. I can talk to him, stuff like that! That's what I was doing." Ellis stared at him, obviously confused. "Okayyyy. Sure. Alright," she sighed, standing.

Ezran and Ellis strolled off to the throne room, where everybody was waiting. Including Rayla. Okay, good. She didn't have to face the wrath of Opeli. Boy, that would've been interesting. He plopped down on his throne and Ellis went to explore the castle. She managed to wander down to the high mage's office. She knocked gently on the door. "Come in!" She opened the door and she poked her head in. Ava held her large, fluffy head above Ellis. "Hi. How are you?" "Good. Yeah. I have work to do, though. A lot of work."

Ellis understood. "Oh. Yeah, okay. I can... I can go." Immediatly, Callum thought he had offended the child. "I mean, you can stay for a little while." She smiled. "Whatcha doin'?" "Trying to figure out the Ocean Arcanum." Ellis was clearly confused, so he specified. "An Aracanum is like... a piece of a primal source. The meaning. Magical creatures, such as elves, are born with an understanding of said primal source. For example, Rayla is a Moonshadow elf, so she was born with an understanding of the Moon Arcanum."

Ellis nodded. "But, just because magical creatures are born with a connection that humans aren't, doesn't mean we can't form our own connections, like I did with the Sky Arcanum. Now, I'm trying to find out the Ocean Arcanum. Boy, Rayla won't be happy about this one." "Why not?" Callum knew he had made a mistake. "Uhhhh... she just... doesn't.... like.... Ocean Magic?" "Oh. Okay. Cool." With that, she left the room.
