"Reject me, Jisoo."
Jisoo's ears perk up and she turns around. "What did you say?"
"Reject me." Jisoo was waiting to hear Rosie's words to take it all back. She waits for Rosie to say that she doesn't really want Jisoo to reject her, because if she rejects Rosie, then this means Rosie does not like her anymore and that means that Jisoo has lost her forever.
"I know you don't feel the same way and you've been rejecting me for years already."
The words seem to hit Jisoo like a cold wind, she didn't expect Rosie to say like that, she's quiet afterwards and is just standing there, like thinking how to reply back, meanwhile, she doesn't seem to have any emotion on her, her expression is just like blank, then after few quiet second, she say, "It's okay. It's my fault for expecting too much. But at least let me confess. I know I rejected you many times and I regret it but please know that I am already falling for you. I love you. I love how you're very gentle and caring. It's really hard to find people like you. I really love how strong minded you are about your opinions and beliefs, it's really admirable how you can stand on your own two feet like that, and how you're not afraid to voice your opinions no matter what others think. You're just a really special individual and I'm happy to have a chance to be with you." As her eyes keep staring at Rosie, Rosie sees the tears in her eyes are starting to drop down. Please say something. Please say something.
"R-really?"
Jisoo just looked at Rosie for a few seconds before nodding her head. "Really." She now smiles softly as she slowly reaches for Rosie's hands, her hands are soft and warm, says Jisoo in her own thoughts.
She was confused, Rosie, surprised but elated, replied with a grin, "Jisoo, you've kept me on my toes for so long! I thought I was stuck in the rejection loop, but here you are, changing the game. I like you too." Their journey from rejection to affection unfolded as they navigated the new dynamics of their relationship. "Can I kiss you?" Rosie chuckled and nodded with a sweet smile. "You didn't even ask me yet to be your girlfriend."
"Oh right!" Jisoo gulped and took a deep sigh before asking her out. "Park Chaeyoung, the girl who's my secret admirer and the only girl I love. From the moment I first noticed you, you made my world stop. Seeing you made me realize that you a-" Jisoo stopped when she forgot what to say.
"Fudge! What was that again?" Jisoo almost cursed and whispered to herself when she forgot the next line she's going to say next. She took out the small paper that was in her jacket and read it again. Rosie laughed and hugged Jisoo. "You don't have to memorize anything just to ask me to be your girlfriend, because I will always say yes to you."
Jisoo's mind was still processing and couldn't believe it at first, she was silent for a few minutes then she spoke. "Wait, are we a thing now? As in girlfriends and girlfriends?" The excitement in her voice shows how happy she is right now, Rosie slowly nodded indicating that she felt the same way. "Can I kiss you?" Rosie nodded again and blushed.
Jisoo now smiles and then she pulls Rosie gently towards her, and then she kisses Rosie, her lips were soft and warm, it seems her feeling of affection had filled her. She seems to hold the kiss for a few seconds before she finally pulls away from Rosie, she now looks directly at Rosie and she has a happy smiling face. "I-I.." Jisoo chuckled as Jisoo said, "You are what?" Jisoo saw her gulping as she reached for Rosie's hands. "I love you and I can't believe my guess was right." Jisoo was confused and Rosie chuckled. "I was playing the game "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not." and the last petal says She Loves Me. Of course, I believe it because I have a feeling that you felt the same too."
"I also played that game earlier before I picked you up and the last petal says She Loves Me." Jisoo and Rosie chuckled as they laid their bodies on the wooden floor. They looked at each other's eyes and held their hands. "I've always wished that all of this would happen and I can't believe it came true." Rosie's eyes were filled with tears and Jisoo went beside her to comfort her as Jisoo kissed Rosie's forehead. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, I was having a hard time expressing my true feelings for you and also I'm not that kind of person to be clingy. And I am happy you understand that." This time, Jisoo went closer to Rosie and gave a peck to Rosie's lips. "I love you." Three meaningful words made Rosie cry more and they hugged each other. Rosie was waiting for Jisoo to say that. All these years of Jisoo rejecting Rosie, Rosie finally felt happy and can't believe it's really happening.
As Rosie and Jisoo played through the backyard of Jisoo, chasing one another. They both realized that sometimes, the best things in life come when you least expect them, proving that love has its way of weaving a beautiful tale, even after a series of rejections.
