Day 1

It was Sunday morning. Kody was still sleeping but as a good dad I got up early to get his breakfast started. I really wanted to sleep in and it pained me, emotionally, to slip away from Parrish's arms, but Kody was finally eating full meals now and I intended to keep the strike going. The first four months were the hardest.

He didn't want anything to do with Parrish, no matter how hard he tried to get Kody to like him. Somehow they reached a truce, I have no idea what happened but I didn't want to ask questions in case I ruined it. They still weren't exactly on a friendly basis.

Getting Parrish off me in the mornings was a really hard task to get done, but I could only think how grateful I was that my main concern in life was my mate being clingy. His breath was warm on the back of my neck and he was hugging me tightly. I cracked my neck so I could see his pretty face with the faint morning light coming through the window.

"Parrish, let go. I need to make breakfast." I bent my arm to reach his curls. Last night he got home late from the hospital and fell asleep without his bonnet, making his curls look like a bird nest.

Parrish didn't answer. The only movements he made were to hug me tighter and when I protested he had the audacity to growl at me. I giggled, finding it cute at first but then I felt his dick pressing hard on my butt.

Okay, that's it. I can not let my cub go hungry because of a horny mate.

"Get off, you horny demon." I threw my elbow back into his stomach.

"Ow!" He let out a pained gasp and finally let go of me. "Goddess, can't you be more gentle? It's not even seven am." He rubbed his eyes.

"You know gentle doesn't work in the mornings." I sat up, yawning and kicked the sheets off of me. "I'm going to start breakfast." I grabbed my glasses from the nightstand and stood up.

I still haven't gotten used to the new setting of this house and the empty cardboard boxes filling the hallway were not helping.

We moved to a house, a small one with three rooms cramped against each other, but it had a backyard. We moved because of Kody, he's not fully ours yet and the social worker said that living in a house with more space could help speed up the process. We hung pictures already, and I bought a few indoor plants to make the house feel a bit more alive.

The house had a basement that we haven't decided what to do with yet, but the kitchen was one of my favorite things in this house. If you stood in front of the sink you had a nice view of the backyard. I was planning on growing a little garden there, maybe even getting some chickens.

Kody would probably like them.

I went through the cupboards, looking for the ingredients of today's breakfast. Kody's most recent favorite food is potatoes, knowing that I grabbed a bunch and started washing them without a meal in mind yet.

Let's bake them, with cheese and broccoli and throw some beef in it to make him eat it without complaining.

I smiled at my geniusness. A geniusness called memorizing the cooking books mom gave me when we told her we were adopting a kid. After leaving the potatoes in a pot inside the oven I got the beef from the fridge and set it on the sink to let it defrost. I was looking for the boiled broccoli I left there yesterday when a pair of hands found their way to my waist.

Parrish hugged me from behind and dragged his tongue all over my neck when I stood up straight.

"Stop it, Parrish, our days of kitchen sex are over. We have a kid that could get down and see us at any moment." I pushed him off. Parrish groaned but stepped back regardless.
