Vegas's pov:

I groaned softly and rubbed my nape as I went out of the bar.

Trying to entertain those old pigs is fucking tiring.

They talk about anything other than the important shit and keep beating around the bush.

Now, I just want to get home and cuddle with Kim until tomorrow.

I headed toward my car which was parked a bit further away from the bar, ignoring all the people bustling around me.

I had just passed by an alley when I was stopped by a loud groan followed by a string of curses.

Huh.

I looked into it, catching the feet of what I think of a woman, sitting on the ground behind the dumpster.

Is she hurt or something?

I went into the alley, keeping my footsteps light as I approached her.
.
.
I was surprised when I saw yellow sparks as I got closer.

Is she...

I hastened my steps a bit, my suspicion being proven right when I saw her.

She had a stab wounds on her abdomen that she was healing while clenching her eyes shut.

She's also a magic user...

I haven't met anyone else who's a magic user before...

I could feel a bit of an excitement brew in my chest as I stood there, watching silently as her wound closed.

It's slower than how I'm able to do it.
.
.
She finally opened her eyes when the wound had closed completely and our eyes met.

She immediately stiffened and grabbed the gun that I didn't realize was on the ground next to her before pointing it at me.

I raised my hands in the air. "I don't mean sny harm."

"Who the fuck are you? And since when have you been watching me?" She asked warily, obviously dreading my answer.

I let my magic spark at my fingertips.

"A while. Couldn't help it. I never met anyone like me before." I smiled sheepishly.

She blinked surprised and slowly lowered her gun as she stared at my hand.

"You're a magic user too?"

I nodded.

She pushed herself to her feet and put her gun in the holster at her hip.

I took off my jacket and passed it to her. "Wear this to cover the blood. You'll catch a lot of attention if you go out in public like that."

"Thanks." She smiled and took it before wearing it.

"Names Carina. Carina Jongcheveevat." She added as she zipped it up.

"I'm Vegas. Vegas Kornwit Theerapanyakul." I smiled back.

She froze for a second before looking at me wide eyed. "The devil?"

"The snake?" I shot back with an amused look.

She scoffed and nodded. "Touche."

"Seems like you've had a rough night. Want to grab a drink?" I asked.

"Won't your boyfriend get jealous?" She cocked an eyebrow.

"He won't. He trusts me and would be happy to know I found someone like me." I shook my head.

"So the possessiveness goes one way huh?" She chuckled.

"Eh, he is possessive if someone tries to make a move. But not otherwise." I shrugged as we made our way out of the alley and toward the bar.

We settled into a private booth and ordered a few drinks.
