Chapter 15 - Meeting Karli

Sam walks out of the room a few minutes later and says, "Sorry about that y'all. I had to talk to my sister after I made my call."

Sofia, Becca, and Zemo stand up as they see Sam approaching them. "It's all right, Sam, you didn't miss much," Sofia replied.

Sam feels that something is off as he looks at Beca and Sofia's expressions. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah." Sofia heads towards the door. Becca and Zemo follow behind her. Sam hesitates but follows them as they all walk out of the building.

Outside the building, Bucky and Loki find Sofia, Becca, Sam, and Zemo coming out. "Everything okay?" asks Bucky.

"Yeah but it's close to noon, so we should get going," said Sam.

"Good. So Zemo...where are we headed?"

Zemo looks back at Sofia and then walks in front of them, leading them saying, "This way."

As they follow, Bucky notices a distinct look on Sofia's face and is concerned if what Loki said was true. He feels more and more nervous. He walks next to her and whispers, "Hey, you okay?"

"Yeah, why?" asks Sofia.

"It's just that you seem a little...off."

Not looking at her fiancé, Sofia continues walking. "I'm just ready to find Karli and maybe try and help her."

"We all do. Minus Zemo."

On the other side of Bucky, Loki says, "Well, let's hope that she will want to listen."

Behind Bucky, Sam implies, "Yes, but we also need to be on edge. Besides the Dora Melajae, anyone could be on to us."

Becca notices straight ahead, two familiar faces, and says, "Too late on that."

Walker and Lemar find Becca, Sam, Bucky, Sofia, Loki, and Zemo walking down the street. "Karli Morgenthau is too dangerous for you guys to be pulling this shit," shouts Walker. 

Bucky shouts, "Ah! How'd you find us now?"

"Come on, man," says Lemar. "You really think four Avengers can walk around Latvia without drawing attention?"

"No more keeping us in the dark," says Walker. "You could start by telling us why you broke him out of prison."

"He did that himself, technically," Bucky implied.

"This better be an unbelievable explana..." Walker and Lemar stop in front of the group.

"Hey, take it easy before it gets weird," said Sam.

"I know where Karli is," Zemo implied.

"Well, where?" asks Walker. They continue to walk.

"All we know is, it's a memorial," Sam replied. "So, we're gonna intercept her there. That means civilians. High risk of casualties."

"All right, good, we'll move in fast. Take her by surprise."

"No, I wanna talk to her alone."

"I'm not losing her again."

Becca and Sofia look at each other. Becca gives her a concerned look as she is uncertain about her plan. "Look, the person closest to her died, she's vulnerable," Sam explained. "If there's any time to reason with her, it's now."

Upset and outraged at the idea, Walker shouts, "What? No. Wait, no! No! Stop. Hold on. Stop, okay?" They all stop walking and face Walker. Zemo glances at Sofia as she does at him. "I think we're way past reasoning with her unless you forgot the fact that she blew up a building with people still in it.
