《Chapter 2: Small Talk》

After passing out for the next few hours, Xanthus woke up and saw the crystal beast sitting next to him. "You!" He yelled at him. "Hey..! Sir, it's okay! I won't hurt you. I promise." The beast suddenly spoke. "You... you can.... Talk?!" He asked, surprised. The beast nodded and asked, "What's your name, mister?"
"I'm... Xanthus. The ruler of these lands." He responded a bit uneasy. "I'm Xenophanes! But you can call me Xeno." Xeno replied back. Xanthus shuffled back a bit from Xeno as he felt rather uneasy. He had a sour feeling this was just a ruse in order to let his guard down. His ears twitched a little, and his body felt a bit shaky. The beast noticed his shaking body and could immediately tell he wasn't comfortable. "Hey... I won't attack you or anything.... I promise." He told him, touching his shoulder. "You attacked me just now... And now suddenly you're helping me?"
"Look! Look! I can explain, okay?" He assured him. "When I first encountered you... I thought you were just another weak lifeform. But when you managed to get off of me and resisted most of my attacks... I realised you were a worthy lifeform. That's why I tended to you when you had passed out. You have potential!" He exclaimed to him, making the other a bit flushed. "Uhh... Yeah! That... Ummm.... I'm very much so a king! It makes sense as to why I have such potential." The other responded, unsure on how to take the compliment. The crystal hedgehog laughed slightly and told him, "Oh! By the way, you may or may not have some injuries on ya." Surprised, Xanthus looked down and saw multiple leaves wrapped around some parts of his body. "I don't have any bandages, alright?" Xeno told him, scratching his back. "Nope. It's okay. It doesn't have to be well done. I'm fine with it." The purple hedgehog assured him as he looked around the surprisingly big cave. "Damn.... This place is big. Where's the exit even?"
"Oh. Don't worry, I know the way out. C'mon." He grabbed his hand and lifted himself up alongside the other hedgehog. "Follow me." He told him as he held his hand and walked together. As they walked around the cave, Xanthus intended to ask the other a couple of questions. "So Xeno...." He began. "Where did you come from?" He asked curiously. "I came from a meteor in outer space. I crashed onto earth and took the form of Sonic. I killed Tails Knuckles and Doctor eggman with ease, met an odd Sonic guy who gave me this weird red ring, and the next thing I knew, I wounded up here!" He explained excitingly. "Where did you come from?" He asked excitingly, touching him slightly. "The Death Count Variable... I'm not sure how it did it, but it wasn't supposed to be in the Mega Collection or any game for that matter. But it did. It got to a very high count to the point that I was created. I roamed around the place and managed to copy Sonic's data and morphed his data into my own. I gained control over Tails, Knuckles, Robotnik, and even Metal Sonic, were under my wing. I got myself a castle, met a guy named Loss Curse who I knighted, and also gave me the ability to travel to different dimensions. Though I haven't been using it very often..." He explained. "Ooo~! Sounds interesting!" The crystal beast said amused. "I've met someone similar to that Loss guy you've mentioned before."
"Really? That's odd... Speaking of which, did you bring anyone else with you here?" Xanthus asked, concerned. "Nope! Just me!" The other hedgehog answered. After a bit of chatting between the two, they had finally reached the exit of the cave. "Well, uh... That was quick." The purple hedgehog muttered. "I suppose I'll be on my way."
"Actually...." The beast suddenly spoke.  "Can I... Come with you to your castle? I wanna see what it looks like!" He continued. "Uhh... I guess you can come along. It's been pretty boring there lately." The purple hedgehog responded. "Thanks!! I can't wait to see your castle!" Xeno yelped excitingly as he hugged Xanthus tightly.  "Woah, woah... calm down, okay? I get that you're excited and all but chill out, okay?" The purple hedgehog assured the other as he was let go of. "Sorry...." The beast apologised.  "It's fine. I'll show you the way." The purple hedgehog explained as they started walking to his castle.
