✿Chapter 9 (Part 1): A Night To Remember ✿

Well, today's finally here! Majin's thanksgiving dinner was in full swing! It was time for his friends (who are more like acquaintances) to come on over and have a wonderful feast. Though, there was one person who hadn't gotten up yet. As the crystalline beast ate breakfast in his room and finished in a blink of an eye, he wondered why his royal friend hadn't gotten up yet. It was about to nearly turn 11 o clock! He wanted to figure out why he hadn't shown up for breakfast, since Loss told him he didn't see him at the dining hall. He's gonna have to clean up first. After cleaning up, he went up to his friend's bedroom and knocked on the door, but there was no answer. No matter how long he waited. He knocked a couple more times and door still hadn't opened. Eventually, he gotten a bit more confused, so he just barged on in. "Hey Xan? Are you awake?" He asked, coming in without proper permission. As he approached his bed quietly, he saw that the purple hedgehog was still sound asleep! On one hand, he didn't want to disturb him, on the other, he felt like he should at least wake him up or something. Since today was the thanksgiving dinner. Silently, he slowly climbed onto the bed and went up to his sleeping friend, putting his hands around his body as he stared at him with his pinkish red eyes. "Xanni?" He whispered quietly to his ear. To which he got a response. Xanthus heard him whisper out his nickname, and slowly opened his eyes, only to be met with surprise and maybe some blush. He stuttered a bit embarrassed, his face reddening noticeably. "Gah! Wh-Where did you come from?!" He asked, his body shaking. "Oh! It's just... You hadn't woken up yet. I was pretty worried. I mean, it's almost 11 AM. You tend to wake up early so not seeing you at breakfast.... Made me kinda confused." He expressed, getting off the purple hedgehog and lowering his ears. "Wait... What do you mean it's-"
And then he looked at the alarm clock placed next to his bed. "HUH? IT'S ALMOST 11?!" He suddenly shouted surprise. "Fuck I overslept...." He then proceeded to mutter. The two hedgehogs immediately got off the bed, the purple one stretching his limbs and shaking his head. He quickly put on his gloves and boots and dashed downstairs for breakfast, the crystal beast following suit, even though he already had breakfast. After his untimely breakfast, the purple hedgehog sat on top of his throne. He only really sits on his throne when there's work to be done but today there wasn't any. But since the thanksgiving dinner starts at 7 and it was just becoming the afternoon, he figured the least he could do was rest until it was 3 pm. While he sat down statically, Xenophanes peeked behind a corridor and saw him sitting there unmoving. He went up to him slowly and tapped his shoulder. "Hm?" He hummed quietly. "Yes Xeno?"
"Uh... Sorry for bothering you but, I'm kinda bored... Can we do something first?" He asked nervously, twiddling with his fingers. "Uhh.... Sure. Truth be told, I'm rather bored as well." He stated, standing up from his throne. "Ah... I think I have a good idea on what we could do." He then mumbled, grabbing his arm and dragging him to the living room. He then opened up the cabinet beneath the tv and looked inside. It was full of oldish games dating back to around the 90's to the early 2000's, most of these games were also on the gamecube, Wii, N64 and possibly a lot more. He took out some of the games and placed them on the table. "Sooo..... Which one do you wanna play?" He asked politely. The crystal hedgehog stared at all the games on the table, humming curiously as he examined each one. He picked up one and whistled interested. "Is this one okay?" Xeno asked as he showed the game he picked up to the other. Xanthus inspected the game the other picked up and looked at it a bit nervous. "Sonic Riders?" He mused. "I'm not exactly good at that game....."
"Well.... If you want, I could pick another one for you." The crystal hedgehog told him. "No thanks. I think I'll give it a shot." The purple hedgehog refused, sitting down as he grabbed two gamecube controllers, one for himself, the other for his friend. And then, they started playing. As they played, the 3 servants peeked around the corridor unnoticed. "Tch... What is with him honestly?! He is a royal with a clear, high status and a whole damn kingdom, and he chooses to hang around a such vile beast?!?" Eggman spouted quietly. "I second it. I know we're enemies and such, but not even I would disagree." Knuckles added on. "S-Should we really badmouth the king like this...? I mean, he seems pretty happy. I've never seen him having so much... Fun." Tails disagreed, lowering his ears and cowering mildly. The two looked at the cowering fox as the doctor scoffed. "Oh please, you're only saying that because you don't want him to torment you." He scoffed. "N-No! Really, he seems way happier... Do you think-"
"SHH! DON'T SAY THAT!" Robotnik yelled, somehow not alerting the two hedgehogs they were spying on. "You shall NOT accuse your highness of doing and ENJOYING such a taboo you two tailed TWAT." He then scolded, causing the fox to cower. "Hey, don't be rough on the kid. We're all havin' a rough time bein' in this place ya'know? It's best we just forget all about this conversation and move on." The red echidna interrupted, patting the fox on his head. "Hmm.... Alright then!" The doctor then agreed, walking away from the two animals. They walked away as well.
A few hours have passed since the two began playing, and from the looks of it, it appears that Xeno was about to win!... For the fifth time in a row. As his character dashed to the finish line, he put his hands in the air and cheered happily, the purple hedgehog next to him smiling. "I win again!" He yelped ecstatic. "I must say, you're better at this than i thought." Xanthus commented. The crystalline beast giggled joyfully, wagging his tail. As they had a good time together, Loss came into the room.  "Your majesty." He began. "Apologies for the intrusion but, aren't you forgetting something...?" He then proceeded to ask. The purple hedgehog paused for a moment, before he suddenly remembered about the thanksgiving dinner with Majin! "FUCK! I FORGOT!" He shrieked, jumping off the sofa as he sprinted away to take a shower. "Thanks a lot dude, you made him forget to get ready." The knight sneered at the beast, making him feel ashamed. Meanwhile, as the purple hedgehog showered, he contemplated on bringing his crystal friend along. On one hand, he doesn't want him to be alone or be disrespected by his servants. On the other, it might turn out sour considering his hatred for Majin. After he took a shower, he stepped out of the bathroom and dried himself when someone knocked on the door. "Coming!" He yelled as he rushed to the door. As he opened the door, he saw his crystalline friend standing outside, it seems that he wants to talk to him. "Heya Xan. Sorry to disturb you but I just wanna ask... Can I come along?" He asked nervously, twiddling his fingers which were behind him. "Oh. Of course! I was actually thinking about bringing you along." The other replied happily. "Do you need anything else?"
"Uh, no! I already showered so... Yeah. That's all I wanted to ask you." The beast responded, gesturing his fingers. "Hm. Good. I suppose I'll just get ready..." The purple hedgehog murmured, grabbing the door knob as he was about to close the door. "Okay! I'll get ready too." The crystal beast added on, before the door was shut on him. As the king dried and combed his fur, as well as put some lotion in his quills, he opened up a drawer full of makeup. He took out two flat, circular objects opened them up. It was red eyeshadow and blush! He applied both of them on, being cautious and making sure they weren't getting all over his face. When he was done, he put his hands together and wagged his tail happily. "Heh, I look gorgeous... Perfect." He muttered to himself, putting his hands on the table as he went closer to the mirror. He kept his makeup items and put on his gloves and boots, before he went out of his room and went downstairs to the front entrance. As he approached the front door, he saw Xenophanes standing at the front and wearing....His old hoodie?  How'd he get it? Did he not keep it in his room or something? "Heya Xanni!" The crystal hedgehog greeted, putting his hand up. "Uh, hey Xeno. May I ask, why are you wearing... That?" The purple hedgehog greeted back, looking a bit confused. "Oh this? Well, uh.... That night after dinner, you didn't really seem to care about the hoodie. So I just kept it in my room. You didn't notice so I thought you were okay with that. I really liked wearing it so I decided to wear it again since... It's just really comfortable to wear. It feels like I'm hugging you all the time...." The crystalline hedgehog explained, grabbing a piece of the hoodie as he looked to the side and blushed noticeably. The purple hedgehog blushed slightly and wagged his tail. The way he described it.... Felt adorable. Lovely. He wanted to hug him at that moment. "Hm? Xan?" The beast hummed perplexed. "Huh? Oh, yes. Well, I'm not trying to be rude.... But, do you really need to wear it?" He asked a bit nervous. "Well.... Since we're going out, I thought I could wear this again! I know. It's a pretty pathetic excuse..." The beast explained then mumbled, letting go of the piece of cloth he was holding. "No, it's fine. You can wear it. Like I said, I don't use it anymore." The purple hedgehog told him. "Oh really? Alright then." Xeno replied, putting his hands into the pocket. "Let's go out now, shall we?" The tar hedgehog asked, bending forward towards the other hedgehog in front of him who answered back with a nod. The king grabbed the crystal beasts hand as they both walked out of the front door. Getting into the reverse truck as they drove out of the kingdom and into the city.
After a whole hour and a half driving, the two reached their destination. Majin's house! As the purple hedgehog carefully parked the reverse truck, he stepped out of the truck, the crystal hedgehog following suit. They arrived at the doorstep, and knocked on the door. The door opened and there it was, the blue jester had made his return! He looked at the tar hedgehog happily, only for his expression to turn into surprise when he realised who he had brought along with him. "Hmm? Something the matter Majin?" The hedgehog at the front asked confused. "Huh? Ohhh! It's nothing! I just wasn't expecting you to bring Xeno along...." The jester reassured then shuddered, he wasn't anticipating on him bringing along his old nemesis. "Well, uh.... Come on in I suppose!"
The masked hedgehog then went inside the house. Xanthus halved his eyelids in mild annoyance before he took out his hand and grabbed the crystalline beast's hand. Walking him and himself into the house together. They followed the incredibly blue hedgehog into the dining room where a bunch of old and new faces were waiting. Lord X and Unused were, unsurprisingly, present. But there was also Fleetway, Hog The Tenrec, and Starved! "Ah! Hello again! It's pleasant to see you two. Especially you Xen." The decayed hedgehog greeted them, putting a hand in the air. "Uh- Hello X!" The beast saluted back, fumbling a bit on his words. "Huh? Gee Xan, where'd you get that giant rock candy from?" Fleetway then proceeded to ask, cackling slightly and upsetting Xenophanes. He growled slightly at the powered hedgehog, blood noticeably dripping from his mouth. "Let's try to not be rude to our unexpected guest here, alright?" The jester immediately stepped in, not wanting things to escalate. "Here, have a seat!"
The masked hedgehog then whipped out two chairs and placed them across the table. The two hedgehogs sat down with the rest as the blue jester grabbed a plastic bag from Denny's and took out the contents. "Eat up!" He cheered as he gave each person at the table plastic lunch containers and plastic cutlery. After he was done, he sat at his own chair, looking at everyone happily. "Happy Thanksgiving everyone!" He shouted to everyone as he waved his hand up in the air, everyone else following suit. As they all ate dinner, the blue jester wanted to engage in a conversation with all his old acquaintances, especially his old nemesis's. "So... How's everyone doing lately?" He asked, before whispering to the lord "You don't have to answer anything Lordie~"
"Cringe.... Anyways, I WAS doing fine. Up until this Mephiles wannabe showed up. Speaking of which, why was he with XANTHUS of all people?!" The fleeted super replied, annoyed that he has to see the crystal beast once more. Xeno's eyes widen in shock, before his pupils vanished and he began growling aggressively. "Hey! Hey! Relax.... Take it easy..." The purple hedgehog stood up, wanting to make sure the crystal hedgehog doesn't maim anyone. The crystalline beast heeded to the tar hedgehog's plea and sat down, quiet grating coming from his teeth. The king sighed glad before he sat down. "So, about that Fleet. Xen and Xan live together in his castle. I should know. I visited him yesterday!" The lord suddenly spoke. "Did you really have to say it? I could've said it myself y'know..." The purple hedgehog muttered, annoyed. "Is that why he's wearing your old hoodie then?" Unused questioned, tilting his head slightly and lowering his left eyelid. "Now that you mentioned it... It is!" The decayed hedgehog added, leaning forward and pointing his finger. "Where'd you get that?" He then proceeded to ask. "Well uh... Xan allowed me to wear this! He said he didn't used it anymore anyways." The beast responded, clenching onto parts of the hoodie. "Why yes. I did allow him to wear it. Not that I didn't like it. I just... haven't used it for looooong while." The purple hedgehog confirmed. "Isn't that kinda... Like, gay or something?" Hog asked perplexed. "Wha-What are you talking about?! It's obviously not! Mankind just... Romanticise everything nowadays!" The tar hedgehog replied frantically and blushed. "You sure about that? You said that in a rushed manner." Starved commented, leaning forward. "Wh-What do you mean?!" The other responded, blushing even more. "Gee Xanth. I didn't think you'd stoop so low and do such... vile things." Fleetway joked, grinning in a snarky way. "Vile things?!" The king replied in shock and bewilderment, as well as being way more blushed than before. "Fleetway!" Majin scolded. "What? I'm just being honest. Jeez...." He muttered unflattened. "What are we even talking about...?" Xenophanes asked confused. "Oh it's nothing Xen! Just talking to your lover about some flattering things~" Lord X told him, gesturing his finger. "Lover....? What's that?" The beast asked, leaning forward and raising his brow. "It's nothing! It's truly nothing." The purple hedgehog frantically told him. "Why are you like, sweating and nervous looking dude?" The eyeless hedgehog asked concerned. "I'M NOT!" The purple hedgehog responded angrily. "Sheesh! Calm down man..." The other said, putting his arms up. "Xanthus! Don't be angry at him!" The masked jester spoke, getting up from his chair as he glared at the king. "I uh.... Sorry..." The purple hedgehog stuttered. "Damn. Gay AND in denial? Talk about some BIIIGGG cringe huh?" The powered hedgehog mocked. "I'M NOT GAY!" The purple hedgehog stood up in anger. "Hey Fleet, I don't think you should-"
"Heh, surrrre~ Keep up the denial dude. You're really good at it~" But before the tenrec told the evil super to stop taunting the purple hedgehog, he then began to mock him even more, aggravating him even more. "ENOUGH!" He yelled loudly and angrily, leaping across the table as he begins to aggressively attack him. He opened his mouth up wide, his maw full of sharp teeth and black tentacles made out of tar, before he lunged his head forward to rip out the other hedgehog's head. But just as he was about to hurt him, he suddenly felt something holding him back. He turned around and realised it was Xeno, who was tightly holding him back. He closed his mouth in anger, his yellow pupils gone as more tar ran down his face. "LET ME GO!!" He yelled, flailing his arms about as he tried to break free from the beast's grasp. "Not.... A.... Chance...." He groaned, struggling to keep him still. It didn't take long for the yellow eyed freak to calm down. The crystalline beast let go of him gently, petting his head to see if he had calm downed properly. "Stop." He sneered, flicking his hand off his head. "Sorry..." The crystal hedgehog muttered, a bit saddened. "Just... Fuck off. ALL OF YOU." He told everyone angrily, walking out of dining room and into the backyard. Fleetway got up and brushed himself off, annoyed at the fact that when the purple hedgehog jumped him, he knocked his food off the table with his foot. Majin stood up and grabbed a broom to sweep off the spilled food. As he did so, the powered hedgehog sat back at his seat and crossed his arms annoyed. "God.... Now I can't eat since that royal rat couldn't take a joke." He grumbled irked. "Well... I mean, you were the one who made him mad. Of course he would be pissed as hell." Starved stated, tilting his head robotically. "Well... Whatever..." The other grumbled. "I didn't know Xanni gets mad easily." The crystalline faker mentioned, sitting back at his seat. "Wait wait wait..... Xanni?!" Unused ask surprised, leaning forward slightly. "Uhhh... Yeah. It's what I call Xanthus." Xenophanes told him. "Why do you call him that? Are you his boyfriend or something?" The evil super asked rudely, his snarking being audible in his voice. "Uh.... No? What even is that?" The crystal beast replied, raising a brow in confusion. "Ahh.... It's simply an alternate way to call a male partner." Lord X explained to him, look at him and gesturing his hand. "Cool! What do you do if you're a boyfriend?" The beast proceeded to ask. "Well, not much happens! You just have a partner now. All you can do is show your partner how much you care for them. For example...." The decayed hedgehog then proceeded to kiss the blue jester on the check. He widened his eyes in surprise, blushing blue. "You can give your partner a nice kiss on the cheek! Or lips." The lord continued to elaborate. "And just a little heads up, a kiss isn't limited to romantic gestures or for solely your partner. It can be platonic too."
"Gee. Imagine being so stupid ya don't know what the word "boyfriend" means." The super hedgehog sneered. "I've heard about it. I just never knew what it meant." The beast corrected, pointing his finger up. As they talked, the blue jester had finished cleaning up the floor. He threw the food into the bin and sat back down. "Well uh.... We'll forget about that minor inconvenience and continue with the Thanksgiving Dinner!" He told everyone. "What about Xanth? Is he not gonna join us...?" The crystal hedgehog asked concerned. "Considering what just happened, he probably won't." The jester added, looking towards the side. "Oh... Okay." Xeno mumbled disappointed and sad. After a while, the gang was done with their dinner, Majin grabbed all the plastic food containers and threw them away. "So, now what?" Hog asked, looking around awkwardly. "We could talk about The Everything." The eyeless hedgehog suggested. "Now that's what I call a great idea! Who told you about this "The Everything" Unused?" The blue jester asked, leaning forward. "I did! I told him all about it when I broke him out of Federal Prison." The decayed hedgehog explained. And so, the the two hedgehogs began talking about "The Everything." While everyone was invested and wanted to know more, Xenophanes was incredibly bored. He felt rather... Empty? Uninterested? He didn't know how to put it into words. He really wanted to talk to Xanthus. But after what happened, he's not sure if he wants to talk to him or anyone else for that matter. He felt that it at least wouldn't hurt to try. "Hey guys..." He spoke up anxiously. "I'm really sorry for saying this, but... I'm gonna see Xanni and see if he's calmed down."
"Well of course you can visit him! Just try not to be too pushy. Especially when he's upset." The incredibly blue hedgehog warned him. The crystalline beast nodded his head a bit uneasily, before he stood up and went into the backyard. Meanwhile, in the backyard, the purple hedgehog sat down and curled on the soft grass, his body partially leaned against a giant tree as the night breeze blew on his quills. It felt like a nice change of pace from his usual routine. Rarely does he find himself in soothing scenarios like what's happening right now. He does enjoy a bit of alone time. As he felt the cold breeze of air flow through his fur, he heard footsteps approach him cautiously. Although his eyes were closed, that doesn't mean he was fully asleep. He opened up one of his eyes to see who was approaching him. As per usual, it was the crystalline beast. He seemed a bit confident, but also nervous. "Oh, hey there." The tar hedgehog greeted disinterested. "Heya Xan..." the beast greeted back a bit quiet. The king sighed a bit annoyed and looked at the crystalline beast. "Let me guess, you wanna talk to me?" He asked. "Do you not wanna to talk to me? That's fine. I'll leave." The crystal hedgehog mumbled nervously before turning around to leave. "Actually Xeno... You can stay with me." The king changed his mind. The crystalline hedgehog looked back at him and smiled, before he went up to him and sat next to him. The purple hedgehog looked at the other hedgehog, his expression saddening as he lowered his ears. "I didn't think you'd talk to me after what happened...." He muttered softly. "It's okay! Truth be told, I don't like Fleetway either." The beast expressed, giggling slightly. "You've met him before?" The other asked surprised. "Yeah... When I first met him he was an absolute jerk. I didn't think I had to see him again." The crystal beast answered. "But if you've met him before, why didn't you lose your temper?" The king asked confused. The crystalline beast looked at him and smiled sheepishly. "I didn't want to embarrass you." He responded. "Embarrass me?"
"Well... The thing is... You're someone with a high status. You're a king with a kingdom. And me? I'm just some wild creature from outer space that somehow stumbled onto earth.... I don't want to embarrass someone like you." Xenophanes explained, trying not to cry. The yellow eyed freak listened attentively to the other hedgehog and realised how problematic his inferiority complex was. He got closer to him and held his hand. "I really don't understand where'd you get this ideology from. It's true I am a king. But that doesn't mean I don't embarrass myself. Sometimes I tend to let my emotions get the better of me. As seen before.... I'm trying my damnest to improve it, but I've hardly made a dent in that progress..." The purple hedgehog replied, blushing slightly. "We all have our problems, and all we can do is try to mend them. But that doesn't mean we have to be completely perfect and fit everyone's ideal vision of you. It's impossible. But, that doesn't mean you can't better yourself."
The crystal hedgehog looked at the other hedgehog next to him as his eyes glistened. He immediately wrapped his arms around him and happily wagged his tail. "You know a lot of things." He whispered into his ear. "Thank you." The other whispered back as he pulled himself away from the beast. "Uhh.... Can I stay here with you...?" He then asked nervously. "Of course. After all, you're an amazing friend." The purple hedgehog responded, bowing his head slightly. "Thank you." Xeno said as he smiled happily, before he slowly went up to Xanthus's face and kissed his cheek. "Wha- Wha- uh- What was that??" The purple hedgehog asked, completely caught off guard. "A kiss! Do you not like it?" The beast asked confused. "Well- I- Uh- Fuck- I-" The purple hedgehog began stuttering uncontrollably, his face turning more and more red before he covered his face, completely embarrassed. He's been holding in his feelings for him all along, never has he ever told anyone about it aside from Noah. Who only managed to figure it out because of his weird psychic powers or whatever. The crystal hedgehog looked at the embarrassed hedgehog and went up to him. "Are you okay...?" He asked concerned. "I- I'm fine... I promise..." The tar hedgehog reassured him, uncovering his face. "However.... There is something I'd like to ask you..." He continued. "Which is...?"
But before the beast could figure out what he wanted, the king began to hug him tightly, going through his hoodie and popping his head out of the collar as he snuggled on his chest. "You don't mind staying with me for a couple of minutes... No?" He asked. "Of course I don't mind!" The crystal hedgehog responded, putting his head on top of the other as he hugged him lovingly and slowly fell asleep. Meanwhile, Majin and his acquaintances were busy talking about The Everything. They were all growing pretty confused about what it was. Calling it egotistical and whatnot. But they eventually got sorta bored with the topic and decided to switch tracks. "Well uh.... Turkey was good." Unused commented awkwardly. "Yeah... It was alright." Hog agreed. "Welp, now that we've eaten everything. I'll throw these away!" The blue jester announced, taking all the plastic lunch containers and washing them up, before he went out to throw them in the recycling bin. "You know Unused.... I wonder if Rewrite's on your tail. He tends to get incredibly aggressive when things that he didn't account for happen." Starved asked. "Y'know what I'm wondering?" Fleetway spoke up. "What?" The eyeless hedgehog asked perplexed. "I'm wondering what Xanthus is doing right now... Oh and Xeno too."
"I'm sure he's calmed down! I'll go check on him and Xen." Lord X answered before he stood up and left the dining room. As he went out into the backyard, he saw the two hedgehogs he was looking for cuddling. He widened his eyes in surprise and chuckled as he approached the duo. He whipped out a camera and took a photo of the duo, not realising his flash was on. "Huh...?" The crystal hedgehog muttered, opening his eyes and seeing the decayed hedgehog standing in front of him. The lord immediately hid his camera as he greeted him. "Oh! Uh.... Hello Xen!" He saluted. "Hi X! What are you doing here?" The beast questioned. "Ohhhh! Ya know, just getting a breath of fresh air. What are YOU doing here eh?" He replied before quickly asking. "I just wanted to talk to Xanni and then he asked me to stay awhile." The crystal hedgehog explained, patting the hedgehog he was cuddling with on the head. "Well, he seems to be enjoying it." The decayed hedgehog commented. "Hehe... Yeah. I bet he's really happy." The crystalline beast commented as well. "Yeah... Ooo! By the way, we've just finished dinner. You can come since everyone's probably gonna leave soon." The decaying hedgehog informed him before leaving the backyard and entered the house. As the beast watched the other leave, he shook the other and attempted to wake him up. "Hey Xan." He whispered. "Wanna join the others?"
The purple hedgehog hummed as he opened his eyes slightly. Before he nodded and pulled himself away from the crystalline beast before they went back into the house.
After the Thanksgiving Dinner, all of the guests returned home. The purple hedgehog was about to enter the truck with the crystal hedgehog inside, when he was stopped by the lord. "Well. Did you enjoy your special time with your boyfriend~?" The decayed hedgehog asked jokingly. "He's NOT my boyfriend X!" The other replied angry and flustered. "Hmmm.... Sure~ Well, if that's the case. What's this then?" The lord then flashed the photo he took of him and Xenophanes, causing him to blush madly. "I- Uh It's- Duhh- FUCK!" Xanthus attempted to come up with an answer, but unfortunately he couldn't. "Something's become evidently clear. You are completely in love with him. No?" Lord X asked, crossing his arms and raising a brow. "I DON'T- GRAAHHH! WHATEVER! STOP TRYING TO BUTT INTO MY PERSONAL LIFE!" The purple hedgehog lashed out annoyed. "Alright alright. Fine. Before you go, take the photo." The lord insisted. "Why...?" The tar hedgehog asked. "Ehhh.... Why not? Think of it as a memorial." The other explained. The king rolled his eyes in annoyance, before snatching the photo from the other and entering his truck. "Hey Xan. What're you talking to X about?" Xeno asked, raising his brow as he was curious. "It's irrelevant. You don't have to know." The purple hedgehog responded, closing the truck door as he started the engine and drove back to the castle. The two hedgehogs got out of the truck, both rather tired. "Huuughhhh..... I'm tired." The beast said, stretching his arms before he snapped into a slouched stand. "I know you are. How about you rest early? I don't plan on going out tomorrow, so you can spend some time with me." The purple hedgehog told him, patting him on the back before they went into the hallways and into their rooms. As the tar hedgehog was lying in bed, he began to reminisce about his friend. All the times they had, even though some weren't as great, wagging his tail at the thought on thinking about these memories alone. Taking quite a while to fully fall asleep.
End Of Chapter 9 (Part 1)
(Hey. So uh, I'm splitting Chapter 9 into two parts for two reasons. I found the continuation of the aftermath of the thanksgiving party to be a bit awkward and because holy shit I spent WAY too long writing this and I've been trying to get this out. So yeah. Also don't expect part 2 to be very long.)
